Morning 😀 how's the family, how's the start of the school year going?
We've had some huge mangoes down here lately so I've been making mango purée for DD and freezing while I can get it fresh, she didn't like the first try (say what?!) but loves it now.

Wish it was raining here, it's stinking hot and humid. We are chilling out at home before venturing out for an appointment around lunch time. Feeding clinic/speech therapist.

Morning ladies. I am eating breakfast after getting the kids to school at the crack of sparrows as DS had band practice. Have an electrician here installing switches for our pool pump and fixing some fan switches that have been a nightmare for over a year 😏. Had my first day back at work yesterday (dance teacher). There's not a single part of my body that doesn't have a sore muscle, even my feet. Have to do it all again this arvo/evening!

    Morning ladies
    @gingermillie, I don't like mangoes.
They're up there with marzipan for me.

    Back to school sucks.
I'm just not ready for it.

    Hey, I have a question.
DS1 started year 2 this year. He came home yesterday saying he was in yr 1/2B
He said there's some year one students bumped up to year two because they were so smart.
I'm not from here so everything to do with school is new to me.
    What does that mean?
Does that mean he's behind and is only on par with younger kids?
Or are the younger kids bumped up because they are smart and they will make up the numbers in his yr 2 class?
DH is calling the school later but I'm curious.

Hi I am currently too early for check in. Bugger butts.

My family is good. I can't wait to see them. I miss them so much. I think school is going okay. I was only home for the first few days. Poor dd1 didn't sleep last night and has fallen asleep on my suitcase.

Morning. I am trying to motivate myself to vacuum and mop the floors. They are disgusting. I'm also trying to motivate myself to attack the largest pile of folding I've ever allowed to develop!
@Phony it is probably just what they call a composite class. It does allow younger kids to work at a higher level and some of the older kids to work at a lower level if needed. But in a way that is not obvious. It doesn't however mean that your child is working at a lower level. Most of the kids are at the right stage for age.

    Thanks, binnielici.
I was sure he was doing OK.
Reading and writing are excellent, maths is pretty good too.
We will speak with the teacher later to see where he's at and see if we need to do more at home.

Now, do you have a steam mop?
