Default Sorting out the meds ..

    Hi everyone ,

Happy Birthday to those celebrating recently !

I'm in the process of stocking up on meds before flight to Greece on the 26/6 .

On top of it I've been bleeding non stop since I started on levlen for 14 days straight so specialist o/s suggested taking antibiotics as I may have a mild infection post biopsy . Followed advise & Bleeding now calmed down thank goodness as I was freaking out !!
Also a side effect of going on the pill apparently , so lifted dosage to 2 a day to help things along . As if there's not enough to worry about geeeez . I hate being on the pill but only a few days left of it until I start other drugs ...

    My next dilemma is ..
Can anyone explain to me if it's easy to buy synarel in Greece ? I just bought a bottle for $120 , which I start next week - but I may need some at backend of the trip & couldn't be bothered buying another bottle to Bring over if it's easy to get supplies in Athens ???

Also I know I've asked before but with the meds taking them overseas & having to be a certain temperature , is a lunchbox enough to keep the meds fresh ? Would the 24 hour flight with clexane & progesterone Be an issue ?

Hope everyone is Enjoying queens bday long weekend . I'm beginning to pack my things for Greece , Santorini here we come

    Wow so much happening!

Congratulations @AnnaMM - 12 weeks is a huge milestone! I wouldn't have a clue what comes after that either but enjoy finding out!

@Lucky8 - I too don't like the idea of going on the pill! We've only just sent our bloods to Dr N and now await a response to find out the next step. I thought once I made the decision and let go of OE and chose a clinic I'd be more excited and let go - but something in me still wants to try naturally until the very last minute ....

@gorgeousgeorge and @Juventina thank you for the info on the heat in Athens! So we will have to ensure our accommodation (which I haven't even started to consider where etc) has air con! I've also started to worry about what to tell people when I get pregnant... right after a trip overseas! I have some wonderful friends I'd be ok with telling but I also have my DHs friends, some of the women I would not be comfortable sharing what I had for breakfast let alone something so emotional as this... hmmm.

@Juventina I'd also love info about accommodation in Athens - I don't even know where the clinic is or Plaka region is .... yet... one thing at a time for me right now.

@lissimmo thanks for info that I'm not alone with negative GP! Since my FS won't assist us anymore (once I mentioned OS) we have no more contact with them

All those with public holiday ... (not Perth ) enjoy you long weekend!!! (I shouldn't complain ours was last week for
    WA Day

@Rhino , even with donor eggs your child will have some of your dna as its growing in your system . My husband found this article below to convince me as I too struggled with the concept .

@Lucky8 your progesterone and clexane are both 'room temperature' meds so don't panic about keeping them cool. If you need more than what you have, let me know, I have heaps of clexane left from my failed IVF. I do also have some synarel left, but as that's a nasal spray, probably not a good idea to pass on - synarel is also more used for down-reg and thinning the lining as a prep, so i wouldn't think you'd need more than what you have. l checked with Dr N and apparently all I need is progynova and then progesterone for after so PM me if you want to stock up for your return to Aus . As Yasna or Stacey10 said in a post a while back, progesterone is apparently cheap and better in Greece than what we have here so stocking up over there is probably the better option.

We're now about 5 weeks out from our arrival in Athens, so this is starting to feel very real! I'm on Microgynon to keep my cycle regular, and will start the Progynova next cycle.

So disappointing to hear that so many of you are getting negative feedback and no support from your GP's and FS's - our FS (Wazza) was the one who told us that our best hope of a family was to go OS - his job is to get us that baby, however he can! We decided to give ivf one go but Wazza was proved right, so here we are . As for who you tell, I'm an open book, so don't hold back on what's happened to me. I'm being a little bit circumspect in the lead up, more so not to get too many hopes up, but once that BFP is confirmed I'll be quite frank about the how and why if only to get the conversation started and dispel any "stigma" in the wider community.

@AngelD Nice to know you feel similar to me about getting rid of the whole stygma thang :-) Yeah i wanna tell people (once i know it worked and alls good) because im excited, happy and at this stage just feel really lucky that i still have options, in a way i feel really special about it, like how lame is a "i had sex and fell pregnant" story compared to "i frucking flew half way around the world to a foreign country and used some lady who i dont even know's eggs and ive got the receipt to prove it!!!" Thats a way better story! And you get to have a way earlier blastocyte photo, not many people get a pic of their kid at like 100hours after they came into existence :-) Hoping you get one! Cant wait to follow your journey once you head off. Wishing u all the best xox

Lol. I just skyped with dr nikos and he went to tell me that 5 ladies from australia got bfp's last week on the same day, i cut him off and said, 'i know already from the internet forum' hahaha. It was funny :-) we laughed and I said, "i know everything that happens to the aussies at embryoland."
