Wow exciting CP! Isn't it crazy that known donor thing worked out so much more expensive than going to the other side of the world... Ridiculous! Which clinic are you going to?

Hi, thanks Chillout. We are going to Iakentro in Thessaloniki. We had pretty much decided on Iakentro before i joined this forum. They get rave reviews on fertility friends forum. Plus we found from a FISH test that DH has sperm issues so we are going to Thessaloniki where they have more advanced equipment (than the Athens clinic) for MACS and PGD. If anyone wants to know more, this site explains them (and other clinics) pretty well:

@stacey10 would you have a link for monash advertising the ERA test? I have spoken to them (several people there) and they seem to have no idea what I'm talking about!

I think sometimes the OS clinics have had bad experiences with stuff not being done right in a patient's home country and it stuffs things up. So I understand why they want to do it themselves, but it's bloody expensive!! It's ok for the girls in the UK, but for us it's a little different!

@Vixjc tell me about it! They said 'you only need to come here for the day'.. Hmm yes but for someone in Australia that means taking a week off work and spending approx $5000 when you combine the cost of travel and the actual test .. Not sure why the doctors here can't perform the tests 'properly'..

I guess there are sloppy operators in every profession so they must see the results of that sometimes and want to avoid that possibility. I get it, but it's just not very practical from here unless you have truckloads of money and don't have to work :-)
