Default Egg Donation in Greece #3

Just looking at flights.... the shortest flights are around 24 to 28 hours. Just wondering whether I should break the flights, ie stopover and spend a night in Dubai, or just keep going to Athens? I've never travelled that far before without a stopover so I'm wondering how I'll cope. On our honeymoon we flew to Rome but we had an overnight stopover in Hong Kong. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Also did anyone use a flight lounge? The travel agent recommended buying a pass for in between flights.

I always choose to fly straight through. Spend the time in between flights just walking around and freshening up. I find the long flights relatively ok though, just get mindset on it and kick back!

    Hi Ladies

I've been reading along and trying to keep track of all the posters. Since I am in the States, I can't add to alot of the conversations about doctors and treatments in AU, airlines, flights, etc.! The one comment I can make: Gia asked several days ago about whether valium was needed/taken on day of transfer. I went to Embryoland and Dr. Kanakas was excellent in that regard. Absolutely no need for it whatsoever! That's the one part of my (hopefully soon) 2nd attempt that I do not have to worry about!

Good luck to Gia and any others travelling soon or there now- all the best for a wonderful trip and big BFP in a couple of weeks!!

I haven't set a return date timetable - got alot going on at home/work. March or April or even May would be great. My goal is to get there before June. We'll see....

    Hi ladies.

Well I'm out BT was negative, not sure where to go from here to be honest. I'm exhausted, mentally and pshically drained. I'm only 36 have lived a super healthy life all my life, I really don't understand.
Think it's maybe time to realise that I won't be a mom, have stretched every avenue and spent so much money and the thought of flying to Greece again and home just makes me want to scream.
    Xx

Oh hon. I'm so very sorry to read this. It's just not fair. Take some time to process this cycle before you plan whether there will be another one. I think failed DE cycle are harder than OE ones, and I can just imagine how the thought of schlepping over to Greece again leaves you cold.

    Grieve, then process your options?

Big hug to you lovely. I'm hoping that this is your 'bottom' and it's all upward from here xxx

@kategc I am so sorry and saddened to read that the cycle was unsuccessful for you. It really is disappointing when a cycle fails with donor eggs.
My thoughts are with you at this time. I hope that you have the love and support close by but also know that all of us on the forum are thinking of you also.
    Take care

Kate are you getting any implantation at all? If not and you have done the standard mthfr, factor v Leiden etc then I think you should possibly look at getting the ERA test done ( endometrial receptivity test for implantation) it's a biopsy done at a specific time during your cycle, google it and it's helped a lot of women become pregnant who have had multiple failures
