Oh I'd love to join! I really think it's time I stop telling myself it's the holidays- (and packing weight on that I spent most of last year losing )

My aim is to drop 5kgs in February.

Haven't exercised during the holidays so I'm just starting with 3km morning walks, and am looking into the 5:2 diet.

    Default February Weight Loss Challenge

I'd like to join please. I have about 3.5 kg to lose, but would be happy with 3.
I know my downfall and it's wine it's just a case of drinking less- as in less frequently. I'll have a couple of glasses 4 or 5 times a week, which is bad in itself but once I've had a couple I also start snacking. I need to cut down to once or twice and quit with the snacking!

I'd like to join please - aiming for 3kgs this month I think. I need to lose 30kgs overall.
I've had some success with 5:2 in the past but can't do that now as am breastfeeding my 3mth old.

Just going to be eating better (portion size, more veggies & mimimal processed food) & some light exercise.

Wow congrats to you! What fantastic results. Can I ask a question regarding the 5:2 diet? I quickly just looked it up & read the basics of how it works. Can you tell me what you would typically eat on a "fasting day" ? Are you starting absolutely starving on these days? Because I know when I'm hungry & can get angry lol. Also did you break the 2 fasting days up or had 2 consecutive fasting days? And 1 more thing, on the other 5 days did you still watch what you ate or ate what you wanted only in smaller portions?

I lost 1 kg during January but had wanted to lose 3 kg. So 2 kg to go and I'll be back to my pre pregnancy weight.

im here, I love having the motivation, and sharing with others. I didn't do too well with January, but we have a brand new month. I have signed up for a 12 wk challenge at my gym, so I will be more focused now. marie.

Well, the sensible eating starts today!

I've got nothing but healthy stuff here at work, and I won't be having my little afternoon binge on chips or cheese & crackers. Discipline!

I'll be looking at upping my exercise too, as I'm too inactive.

I'm not hungry much on the fast days, nothing I can't handle anyway. Typically I have 2-3 coffees (with small amount of measured milk) and save my cals for a big dinner. I find it easier not to "break the seal".
I tried eeking out my cals over the day but I was unsatisfied and hungrier. And you'd have to go to bed hungry too. I just drink a tonne of water and herbal tea to get through the day.
I used to get "hangry" pre 5:2 but haven't experienced it since doing it.

I break up my fast days as much as possible, it makes it easier to get through the day knowing you can eat what you like the next day. But I have done a copy of "back to backs" due to social engagements.

When you start doing it you are more conscious of what you eat on the other days. I'd say as generally on the other 5 days of the week 3 days I eat really carefully and 2 days is looser to have a few treats. While technically you can eat what you want, I don't think I would have seen such good results if I'd gone to the extreme on the non fast days. I generally try to keep to my TDEE on non fast days.
I'm happy to answer any questions you have. There is a good FB support group if you are interested I'll give you the details.

Getting irritable when hungry could be a sign of blood sugar regulation issues. I'm a student naturopath so any diet that involves fasting really worries me especially in those who have blood sugar regulation problems. Just thought I'd share 😊
