@Tinachris, oh and best of luck with your cycle. I'll be watching and hoping for you. You're my first 'real' friend on bubhub. As such, you've just been cast in a leading role as a main character in the soap opera that is my life now. (See i'm not totally self-centered:-))

@wishing25 I had a scratch and flush in Warren's office this morning. I went back and read everyone's posts regarding it last night, and wasn't too sure what to expect as there were such a range of experiences. But thankfully i had a good experience, took 2 panadols an hour before and found it slightly uncomfortable but not painful. Just like a slightly more involved Pap smear. Sat in the waiting room and had a cup of tea, and then off to work.
Our January FET cycle was unsuccessful so we're back for another one. I thought I was on a lot of meds last time- but this time we've added nitrodur patches, viagra, fhs and intralippids, along with the the scratch & flush. So was feeling very overwhelmed yesterday going through the plan, but feeling better today that we're trying something new.

@softshellcrab thanks for a positive scratch & flush story!!
I think there were some others too but lots of pages so can't remeber everyone's names ..
@wishing25 I am making this exact same decision right now. I'm kinda terrified of going under anaesthetic I suffer with anxiety and it's a real trigger for me so I'm thinking of taking some Valium and some panadol / naprogesic (wazz said Valium and naprogesic) and going for it.. Obviously cheaper too!!
    What are you leaning towards?
I'd be having this done next week.

I rang wazzas office today because i couldnt go to work because i couldnt stop crying. So ive got an appointment with charlotte in june (couldn't get in to see wazza until december but they promise me charlotte will do the same stuff). Big decision because im in regional nsw, 1200km from brisbane and to get there I'll have to drive 4hrs to sydney then fly to brisbane!!! I dont know how to do my signature yet but my story so far is: im 35, have stage 4 endo, poor responder, 1st ivf 3 x 5 day blasties, fresh transfer= bfn, fet = bfn, 3rd blastie didnt survive the thaw, 2nd ivf, 4 eggs, 1 fertilised, 3 day transfer=bfn, 3rd ivf, 4 eggs, 1 fertilised, 2 day transfer bfn, clinic is kicking me out after ivf #4 (they didnt say that exactly but thats what they meant)
Welcome honey the ladies here are amazing and so supporrive. I saw Charlotte in January when warren was on holidays and she is just as lovely as he is.

@Tinachris good luck today honey. I'm starting my 1st iui cycle today bring on the multitude of medications. Fingers crossed for you honey.

Oh no @Chyna sorry to hear about your headache, yes warren warned me about them with the nitro dur patches and suggested the mersyndol but as yet I have only experienced a dull headache on day 1 of patches so cant complain. Are you wearing them through the night for 12 hrs? I heard that the headaches ease after a few days.

Its good to hear you think charlotte is a good fs because i was thinking if im going to bother to travel 1200km it was really only because i felt like wazza was my last resort. Its weird to be planning to start at a new clinic before ive even begun my 4th cycle at my old clinic but ive already bought all the meds and they said theyd reduce the cost so i may as well give it one last go seeing the clinic is 'only' a 400km round trip away. I think AF is coming tonight or tomorrow so will be starting soon. My current FS said after this next round, id need donor eggs and i feel like im not ready for that yet and i have no friend/family options and i just cant see how id ever get the money to do an overseas donor thing. One of the most frustrating things for me is that my first retrieval 10 months ago, i got 8 eggs, 7 fertilised and 3 made it to day 5 so its hard for me to believe that within the next 4 months my ovaries started to shut down and my egg quality went to crap??? Can it really happen that quickly? I keep thinking that maybe my 2nd and 3rd retrievals were the anomalies. If all 3 had been poor then i think it would be easier to accept. Anyway i know this is a total ME post but i promise once i get to know everyone and where they are at, I'll be less self centered. And its traditional in our ivf culture for your first post to be whiney because the fact your posting means you've reached a type of breaking point, yeah? I spent 3 days a while back reading 5 years worth of a thread on 'ivf over 40' because i figured, hey, you're only as old as your ovaries' lol but even though my ovaries think they're 45, im only 35 and i felt it wouldnt be right joining that group, although maybe I'll get the chance in 5 years, lol but not really. O.K. Enough about me. Wishing everyone lots of babydust, bfp's and thb's (i just invented that, correct me if im wrong) it means 'take home babies' :-)
Ha you're funny @gorgeousgeorge! You can go and join the over 40s group. I sometimes post something and I'm not 40. They are very knowledgeable and supportive of everyone and will welcome you with open arms whether you're 40 or not!
No, you're post isn't whiney, actually. lol! I am on here because none of our family or friends know we are doing ivf. Yes, this is all secret squirrel.
I just can't talk about it with any of them, let alone explain it, then answer their questions about it. So here I am on Bubhub. Not all the time, but I'm here. So i just vaguely answer their ' when are you guys having babies?' questions and hope they don't ask me when I'm totally hormonal about to loose my shiz mid ivf cycle. lol.
I'm certainly no expert in this ivf thing, but I don't think your eggs get crap the further you get into it. I think you need to do a few rounds with Charlotte throwing the kitchen sink at you before you get to that conclusion and then the idea of donor eggs, etc.
I think you will find it worth your time to travel all that way to see QFG in Brisbane.
Fair enough doing that one last cycle with the old crew. Maybe, just maybe, it will work you never know, do you?
Yes, I started preparing with Syneral today. Never did that before. See, I've found just a change in something to do with my protocol has made me happy.
How spesh am I being you're first friend on here? You'll find lots more lovely people (and more knowledgable!!) all over the place. Have fun!
