I'm not a troll at all. My opinion is different from the majority. Yes I am serious.

I've been on the recieving end. It wasn't their business, it didn't involve my children though so that's different but I didn't warrant that caused crap that was totally unnecessary. So I can't help but dislike these situations.

People are often asking for hand outs from the local bss.

Hold on I think it's a bit different than a kid being beaten or abused on the street, blowing it out of proportion. Even in that situation I likely wouldn't intervene. I can understand someone in authority reporting but just some random I reckon leave it to the authorities...

I'm not agreeing with her. Not at all. But I am just pointing out she is not a troll. That's a low accusation to make just because you don't agree with someone (and I know you didn't make it).

Ok so I was kind of with you until the last 2 sentences.

Sorry but if you see out and out abuse you say and do something. Not necessarily report it (sometimes it won't be possible). I can't watch a dog get maltreated. Watching a child would make my blood boil.

Can I ask why it wasn't their business?

How would you feel if you walked passed a child being beaten in the street, failed to report it and that child then died or committed suicide?

If a random on the Facebook page didn't report it to the authorities then the authorities might not ever know about the perceived risk.

Just because I disagree you didn't need to write that. I think it makes you the troll. We were asked for our opinion. If anyone has a difference in opinion they are flamed. It's just a forum everyone is going to have an opinion I posted mine you didn't need to even write that

Did you even read the rest of my post?

failure to provide basics such as food, shelter etc IS just as bad as physically beating a child, neglect is legally child abuse

It IS a legally required thing by society, this family would be identified as at risk, cafs would investigate and provide support if necessary.

would it maybe cause stress if the family weren't at risk? maybe, is that better then butting out and finding another 'child found dead in family home' news headline with all the comments lamenting why did no one do something? absolutely!
