Japanese food (all of it esp sashimi )
a baked potato loaded with cheese and sour cream
sometimes nothing hits the spot like a dirty bit of maccas (cheeseburgers) or KFC 😳
basically anything. carbs as a general food group usually do a good job of picking me up if I feel frazzled
Usually one of these will do the trick (with coffee of course); Double coated Tim tams, guacamole with anything, Darren Lea rocky road, a gourmet toastie, poached eggs on toast with avocado and spicy Mexican sauce, or coyo coconut yoghurt. Yum!
My pick me up food is also my comfort food ☺
So freakin' hungry reading all your responses ladies! I had no idea that the thread would take off as it has. So much so that I feel my 'Slice of cream cake' is simply not a good enough contribution. So without further a-do, some more of my favourites
Butter. On anything. Not the fakey pretend crap, but REAL butter. Thickly spread on a crusty roll. Dolloped onto the top of mashed potatoes. OMG....
Bacon. Preferably on some nice toasted sourdough. With butter, lol. And two perfectly fried eggs on top, with the yolks still nice and runny.
Chicken schnitzel, mash and gravy. And frozen peas. I LOVE frozen peas! Sometimes for lunch I will make a bowl of mash with peas on top. Delicious.
A can of diet coke. Simple yet so refreshing. And it has to be from the can and not from a bottle because d@mmit it tastes different! Loads of ice, and a pre-chilled glass. That's the stuff....
And I'll wrap up with KFC. I rarely have it. It's like a once-a-year to-hell-with-the-world craving. Chips, and a tub of gravy to dunk them in. And a Twister on the side. YUM.
This thread's making me hungry.
Anything Vietnamese, particularly a good Pho with heaps of chilli. Chilli features in my diet nearly everyday.
Udon soup, wonton, dumpling, sobu, egg rice noodle soups, love em all!
Prawns, Salmon, Morton Bay Bugs, Oysters, Mussles, Scallops, whitebait, anchovies, heck, anything seafood, I love it!
Anti Pasto platters, cured meats, vegetables, pickles, olives, haloumi, lavosh bread etc.
Cheese platters, any cheese, love it all, but I adore blue cheese, the bitier the better!
Vindaloo, lamb saag, cucumber riata, naan bread etc.
Jasmine rice, fish sauce and fresh chilli with dried fish, I always eat this when I am feeling a bit off.
Coffee, tea, I am a tea-aholic, love Gun powder tea, Assam, Marigold, so many!
I could go on and on.....
