Default Does anyone's School NOT use Magic100 in prep /Y1?

My kids have just changed schools. DD into y2 DS into Y1. I have just found out they don't use the Magic100 words program. At the old school ( which was a school very high in academic results ) it was all about the 100 words. The new school uses Jolly phonics and reading eggs ( old used these plus magic 100). I thought all schools used magic100. DS was on red words by the end transition ( prep). Does anyone else's school not use Magic100? Anyone teaching their kids themselves?

I've never heard of Magic100. I'm not sure if the school we want t send DD to use that program. All I know is they do Jolly Phonics for at least the first couple of years.

It's thebtop 100 words used in reading. It goes in colour levels eg golden words are first and make up about 25%of all reading words. They work their profile way through all the colours and they have to know them by site. I think buy the end its about 80 something percent of reading words are covered.

We do magic 100 but I would be doing an absolute happy dance if they used a phonics based system such as jolly phonics.

I don't think my kids school use magic100 either. They have sight words (they need to know 100 by end of prep - so perhaps it is used, but there is no colour references) and they used soundwaves for phonics.
