Sorry to hear that @Blossom74. Less is not more for me either, and I think you made the right call too. Some months are just duds I think, it happens and cancelling is the way to go not flogging a dead horse when you know in your gut that it's not going to work out, even though they take a different view. You want to make the most out of every dollar so good on you taking the stand.

agree we need some good news in here!

i thought precious scan is tomorrow. Good luck @Precious40 I will be thinking of you.

@Blossom74 I also think you've made the right call there for sure and I commend you on your assertiveness in telling the clinic how it will be. Sometimes they just keep pushing on like they are lemmings or something. Sometimes you'd think they get commission or something sick like that.

@Summer hope things get better for you, let us know how the chat goes, how has he been since the counseling?
@BlondeinBrisvegas you have been very determined and strong, hope you have someone to lean on when it gets all too much.

I'm very concerned about you all actually! Time for some luck to swing this way I think. *shakes fist at sky*
Thanks @Bongley I think sometimes I just need someone to go whoa you have a lot on your plate then I can rationalise and say yes I do but I can handle it and I just get on with it. Hats off to you x

@Summer I'm hoping your chat with dp goes well tonight and you are starting to make some
Positive progress soon. It's such an uphill battle all the time. Keep strong x

    @Blossom74 Aaaah, fruck it Luv!!!

I'm sorry the news wasn't better for you but FWIW I definitely think you've made the right call.... I would've done the same if I were in your shoes

So, the most Wazza has had me on r.e FSH is 600IU of FSH which I split the dose and injected 300IU in the morning and 300IU at night. Now, a lot of FS won't go that high. They usually will stay around the 400-450IU mark. Just wanting to give you a ballpark dosage level so you know.

You could ask to try the Elonva injection next Cycle which you would then top up with either Gonal-F or Puregon after 7 days or something I think?? One of the other Lovelies who have tried it can tell you or you could try Menopur either on it's own as the FSH for the Cycle or in combination with either Gonal-F or Puregon. There are many ways to incorporate those FSH drugs in your protocol too.

For eg, you could use Menopur on one day and Gonal-F/Puregon the next and alternate them or you could use both in one day. For eg, if your FSH dose was 450IU a day, you could do 225IU of Menopur in the morning and 225IU of Gonal-F/Puregon at night. Lots of different combinations to try. You could even add in a touch of Luveris to try to maximise egg quality as well (depending on your LH levels).

Anyhoo..... and prayers being sent for next Cycle for you!!!

At least you've tried the low dose to see what happened and I think if you are willing to keep going and trying different doses, different drugs (I alternated puregon and menopur daily, and split the doses between morning and night injections) you will likely find the combination that works best and hopefully gets more than three follies. At least this way you are not wasting your time and $$$ at EPU and if you get a good month, you can just go for it. Wise decision methinks

@Caesardust how come the men can't cope when they don't actually have to go through all the stuff we go through? So you have to do IVF, run staff, and deal with all the house and developer dramas? Men, pfffft.

@Tahli thanks for thinking of me and hubby. At the moment things aren't so great. Hoping for a chat tonight, so fingers crossed we start making progress.

@winsor OMG I am hoping and praying that your little embie is the golden one. I hope you are covered from head to toe in babydust from all that we're throwing at you! Good luck hon, you are in my thoughts.

Good Luck with your chat tonight Luvxo

@Blossom74 ditto what bib said . Ive done elonva the last couple of cycles and topped up about a week later with 450. I find elonva good for growing follies evenly. My fs wont go higher than that for me.

The up shot of course is now you will never need to wonder if a lower dose will work for you, you could cancel pre-EPU, and you don't have to wait a month to stim again if you don't want to. I hope you hear back tomorrow morning from your FS. Have you stopped the meds now? xx

I took my Gonal-F tonight as a courtesy to my FS. I'm happy to hear him out but I suspect he'll be on my side anyway. He's not silly. I doubt he would consider my two tiny follies as being 'viable contenders' either If I don't hear from the Clinic by the afternoon I'll chase them up myself.

It was going to be such a fun party too

Thanks for the support ladies. I guess I'm holding up well because I felt bad about this cycle from the start. When they tried to tee up my cycle starting with 3 1/2 weeks on the OCP I was unhappy. I wanted to use Primolut like last time. The OCP was, in my humble opinion, one of the reasons my ovaries took so long to come to life in the first place.

Anyway, moving on. I think I will ask for a month off before stimming again. I want the OCP well and truly out of my system first. And yes, there are a whole heap of drugs I've never been offered yet, so we're not at the end of the road.

    Just in case though....

Do you think if I advertised for an egg donor in Australia, is there much price difference to that than doing an OE cycle?

I'm just floating ideas....you know, on the off chance I couldn't get any eggs is it feasible to find a donor myself and tee it up with the clinic? Or is it heaps more expensive?
