@Tahli Dex is a stronger version of steroid, there are lots of ladies in my immune group on it. He said no to me when I asked for it. You def need to take caltrate and magnesium while on it. You would switch to pred before 12 weeks as it crosses the placenta.

There has been a lot of talk in our immune group about diabex/metformin in the last couple of days. Apparently a cpl of dr's overseas are prescribing it with cycles. Dr m prescribed it for me while I was on pred to help with sugar levels. Which is a good thing when on the roids!

He normally does 500ml intralipids, but I think he had mentioned Lynne possibly doing 2x200ml for you instead of you flying up?

Yes dr m's cost for intralipids is $650, I have full phi which covers the bed cost. If you were doing it on the weekend (most common time) you arrive at 2pm and leave about 10.30/11pm or stay overnight- I live close so leave. You can use the time when he comes in to ask questions and get scripts too, he's usually there twice for about 5-10mins each time.

@Charlie74 I've just emailed Gwenyth to see what my OOP expenses would be if I flew up to Sydney for the day/night. I have PHI for hospital admissions.
Thanks @infinity888 I finally told my sister about CT last week & she collected me from the hospital lastnight with pink roses (my fav) and chocolaty pressies from my niece. I was so touched.
@JulieMalooley With OE cycles no longer an option, be damned if I'm being limited to only doing one more CT transfer if I have any say/control over it!! I've just emailed my CT ED co-ordinator to see if my ED could cycle again for me, so I know what my options are. I don't think she can though as she's already created 5 babies. I can't remember if the limit is 5 or 6 babies?
I'll lend you my ED @Tahli and we can half half siblings ! I doubt very much that CFC would stop you from trying as much as you want to. It's no skin off their noses.

@Charlie74 and @Chiefsgirl Thanks for explaining Dr M's oop expenses, so $650, airfares and a nights accom. Around $1,000...ouch! I'm guessing there's no Medicare rebate on the $650? Can you stay overnight if you have PHI?
Unfortunately there's no way LB would do 2 x 200ml intralipid transfers when she wants me off all extra meds. I doubt she'd even do the 1 x 200ml this time.
So Dex is stronger than Pred. Oh my. Dr M's prescribed 0.5mg x 3 per day, 3 weeks prior to transfer. Do you know how that compares to say, 25mg of Pred? I'm just wondering how hardcore the effects on me would be compared to the Pred. Ta for the Magnesium tip too.
Have any of your immune girls had any feedback on the Diabex? I've never heard if it. I only have to take one per day from CD1. Charlie, he didn't go into too much detail as to why he was prescribing it. Just that there are some recent successes. Nope, I don't have PCOS just boring old NK cells and homo MTHFR.
Thanks for helping out @Chiefsgirl when I know you're having a hard time of it at the moment. Hugs, xx.

@infinity888 its just time I think, you go from being so undone to starting to feel "normal" again in time. For some people it takes a long time and others they just want to jump straight back on the horse and keep trying, I guess its a personal thing. Ive always had long drawn out losses which is excrutiating, either hcg that takes forever to come back down (after weeks of uncertaintity), an ectopic that had me very scarred with anxiety afterwards and then the mmc which only came to the fore at the nuchal scan, even though it hadnt grown from 7 weeks. So I can tell you that its a good thing Im a patient person by nature as otherwise I might have completely lost my sanity in all of it. I always believed that the best way to move forward was to start trying again although I would say that after the ectopic it took a while due to the horrificness of that whole thing. Only you know when you can jump back on again. One step at a time indeed, otherwise anything can seem insurmountable.

@Tahli I believe diabex is a brand name of metformin. I've been taking it while trying to get duffed. I know it is supposed to help with fertility in women who have PCO. It's all tied in to blood sugar levels and insulin resistance. One a day won't affect you too much hopefully. More than that and you might get a bit of nausea/runny bum (I'm on three a day). I've found it very good to help curb appetite. Pretty sure its the only thing that's helped stop me blowing up like a stay puft man.
