Good luck @Precious40.
Oh wow @Tahli. So she is basically saying "If it doesn't work this next time, it's over?"
Far out. On rare occasions we allow our minds to venture to that territory in private, but to have your FS say that, and as blatantly as she did....well, that must be crushing to hear.
At the end of the day it is your choice I suppose. If she won't treat you then someone else might. I think we're all going to have to cross everything extra hard this time for you and hope like hell you don't need to worry about a next time.
You did get so close last time. That's hopeful
Hugs to you hon.
@Tahli good to hear your oven is good. How can she say none..its not none when they cant find anything wrong AND when you've clearly had a natural pregnancy in the past!! All they can say is low, but in actual fact they have no bloody idea! I know its a lot of money to go with your OE cycle but I just feel that its your decision and yes you know the chances are smaller than DE but its your life and you have to know you did what you felt at the time. Also why cant you do IUI given that you have no known issues with your tubes? It worked for MGC Bertie after years of IVF transfers. That way it would be a hell of a lot cheaper too..
Hope you're ok
Such a loaded question @Infinity!
To be honest I'm really scared and really nervous, in comparison to last time when I was hopeful. The difference is that last time I always knew there was a 'next time' to fall back on, whereas this time THIS IS IT! Physically, stimming is much as I remember it to be. Some days crying, some days angry, some days ok. I hang out for the ok days!
@greenlady, I know that quality is more important than quantity but to be honest I don't worry a lot about the quality side of things. Last time I made 3 eggs, and two of those fertilised successfully. One even made it to freezer, in and of itself a near miracle. I have faith in my body to make good quality eggs, the trouble for me is coaxing the little b@stards out!
Your DP can elect to be knocked out for the procedure if he's a bit squirmish about it. Hopefully he'll just tow the line instead and make the lifestyle changes required for the next few months and hopefully avoid that path altogether
So I haven't been on for a week and I'm hundreds of posts behind
I see @Precious40 has another BT today - good luck - this shiz has dragged out far too long - get thee some answers !! @Tahli, that's great news about your oven ! ****e that it's one of those 'we just dunno' answers though. Do you think it's still worth taking pred regardless? Or are you over all the meds... ?
Sorry, I know I've missed a lot, all the answers are probably in the last 40 pages of this thread !
Am sorry about the OE stats...it would've been difficult to hear and be told not to bother trying, but I know the chances at 41/42 are around 5% just from what I've researched and what the live birth rate was at my Clinic. Of course, all FS's have their own individual stats too which is probably more accurate to go by.
I agree with her in going back to SA for either a DET or SET but I have to be honest and say there's no way I'd be doing it without implementing Dr M's immune protocol that he suggested for you.
However, that's me and I know you hate what the drugs do to your body, so it's up to you to decide and do what's best for you Luv
Yep, that's exactly what she was saying @Blossom. My guess is she's working with possible percentages of success after 3 failed DE cycles. I'm going to ask my CT FS's opinion.
I think the crushing bit was hearing it wasn't worth trying with my OEs after she'd suggested a Boost Cycle and given me a script for meds to boost the condition of my eggs and I'd reserved my DS etc. She certainly wasn't saying to stop using my OEs in our consult 2 weeks ago.
@tuxcat If I had access to IUI I'd do it in my off cycles but b/c I'm over 40 I can't access IUI in Victoria. The success rates are too low apparently. Thanks for the suggestion though.
I remember following the final part of @McGBertie's ttc journey. What an inspiration!
