Ex-DP would have a few syringes sticking out of both of his testes representing the TESA procedures he had done twice and in one hand would be the Emla cream used to numb his crown jewels prior to the procedure and an ice pack in the other to ease his discomfort for after!!!
In front of us both would be a few briefcases full of money "Who Dares Wins"-style that would show how much the whole thing bloody cost as well as a couple of yearly calenders to demonstrate the time spent TTC with an ATM receipt sticky taped on the front showing a zero bank balance!!!!

Even with another group of wonderful ladies who started off on bh im one of 2 people who get really low numbers of eggs and even if they say they understand i dont think they do. Unfort when you dont get many as you ladies are well aware we are already behind the game we dont really have room for a couple of embies that may not make it. Thats why im doing one more cycle mainly for hubbies sake by that i mean that i would have gone straight to ct this year.
Sorry @Tahli, I was being tongue in cheek about it. I am a realist as you all know. I say it like it is. I always err on the side of caution and prefer to look at the glass as being half empty, because, well, she who expects nothing is never disappointed.
I get where you're coming from, I really do. But I'm not sure that 100% honest advertising would draw many people in as far as IVF goes. I agree that accurate figures need to be provided, but most reputable clinics would do that anyway. When I look on my clinic's site they break down their success rates based on age and treatment provided. I thought that was pretty reasonable. But do we really need to put across all the bad stuff that goes along with IVF?
If someone had said to me that "You will have a million needles, you will question your sanity, your body and fitness will suffer, and then you will get pregnant only to lose your baby a short time later" I'm not so sure I would have signed up for it! Sometimes these things have to be learned and adjusted to along the way I think.
Truth be told, the only thing that made IVF seem like an option for me was my specialist saying "Look, the odds aren't great but I'd give you 10-15%, so why not try?" It was that little bit of hope that I was looking for, if you know what I mean? It was the chance, no matter how small, that it might one day work for me.
if theres one thing IVF cant do (lets face it theres PLENTY of things it cant do!) its take away our sense of humour!! god if we didn't laugh we'd be dead
