I went to emergency last night with some bleeding and cramping.. 5 hours I waited just to have urine and blood taken with a referral to follow up in the clinic on Wednesday.

Talk about a waste of time.

How far along do you think you are? A scan won't show much at all with those numbers which is probably why the hospital couldn't do much else. Usually they could do a third blood test to see if the numbers are increasing at a normal rate and then a scan at around 7 weeks. It's a horrible waiting game but I hope you get some positive results.

That's awful hun, I guess they thought it was too early to bother doing a scan at the hospital? There isn't much they can do if you are miscarrying (of course hoping you're not). If the pain gets really bad though make sure you let them know in case of ectopic - that is worst case scenario but would need urgent medical attention.

There are plenty of stories where women have experienced similar to this and it all turns out ok. I hope you are one of those women.

But the wait totally sucks and there's really nothing anyone can do until the numbers/time tell them otherwise. If you miscarry the options are wait it out or D & C. Being so early they would suggest waiting it out as they need to be 100% certain before doing a D & C and that usually means waiting longer (if your levels are still rising) to be certain.

Big hugs, do you have friends/family support? It's very emotionally draining no matter what the outcome.

Please go back or go to a different hospital and demand an internal ultrasound. I can't believe they haven't given you one yet.
The triage nurse in Emergency tired playing down my symptoms and when I mentioned ectopic she said ectopic pregnancy wouldn't present as an issue until closer to 7 weeks. I was only 5 and a half weeks and it had already burst! I was taken in for emergency surgery. Again, this is the worse case scenario but you have to rule it out, it's life threatening once it ruptures.

From the LMP it's about 6 weeks.

They are hopeless at Nepean Hospital. The staff are rude and don't care. I understand our hospitals are under funded but Jesus.. try and be helpful..you have people lives in your hands!!

I had an ultrasound today. As expected no gestational sac. Lining is very thick and she says t he ovaries look fine. They can't rule out ectopic because they can't see anything. Asked that I get a referral for 2 weeks time. She could see fluid around my uterus which she advised indicates the bleeding but couldn't give me any other Info.

I have no bleeding today.. back to the brown mucus when wiping. Oh and feeling like garbage..sore boobs.. cramps and rib pain which is new!!!

We have our fingers crossed that it's just too early but it's very hard to stay positive!!

I have my fingers crossed for you. If you experience pain on the one side, go to emergency straight away... I ignored my pain until it was too late. I had a peak of severe pain that lasted a couple of hours (am guessing this was when my tube ruptured) and then it was just dull, lingering pain. They also noted lots of fluid at my scan and did an internal ultrasound after that to get a better look.

    Default final update

    Hi ladies,

Thought I would check in and give you an update.

After much persistence I finally got another ultrasound 2day. Second internal this week. They have finally found it. 1.3 mm in my left tube.

Currently in hospital waiting for an injection to get this over with!

Thanks for your advice over the last couple of weeks. Finally have some answers and able to move on.

So sorry to hear that. I hope it's all over quickly and with minimal pain for you. And sorry for your loss, losing a baby is really hard
