Default 11 + 5 weeks pregnant with twins - red blood after DTD

    Hi everyone,

This is my first post, although I've been a long time lurker.

Wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Sorry if it is TMI.

I'm nearly 12 weeks pregnant with fraternal twins.
Last night after DTD I noticed bright red blood on the sheets. I went to the bathroom and more blood came out. I put on a pad and went to sleep and today I have had no more bleeding.

I am relieved that the bleeding has stopped and I've had no cramping but I'm extremely worried as I had a miscarriage about 9 months ago at 12 weeks.

I spoke to a midwife at the Royal Women's Hospital who said that if there were any more bleeding I should come in, otherwise just wait until my ultrasound on Thursday.

I can't shake the feeling that something is wrong, not sure if I'm just paranoid as a result of the previous miscarriage. I have been very nervous this entire pregnancy.

If we make it to the ultrasound without any further issues, I'll be happy but I'll be so nervous on the day.

Just don't want to lose these babies.

When was your last pap smear? Have you ever had any cervical abnormalities?

The cervix does become quite vascular during pregnancy and often DTD is enough to cause spotting, especially if there's any little ectropion's on your cervix.

It sounds like it's just post-coital bleeding, especially since it's stopped.

Fingers crossed theres no more bleeding and your ultrasound is on Thursday is fine

    Thank you.

I had a pap smear only a few months ago.
