This. There are safe sedatives to take to kick start your body into sleeping.

I have insomnia and restless legs. It gets worse as the pregnancy progresses. I also had it on my 1st pregnancy.

Sometimes my little 'tricks' work. No tv etc before bed. Going for a stroll outside just before dark. Hot milk and honey before bed. Relaxing shower and bath. It all helps me cope.
