Hi there @Outoftime I was on Dr M's immune protocol (dexmethasone and clexane) for an OE FET in September due to elevated NK cells and MTHFR gene mutation thingy that can cause miscarriage, clotting and implantation issues. I had a very strong BFP but miscarried at 6 weeks (most likely due to my crusty 43 year old eggs). After my m/c I decided to move to DE and during my follow up appt with Dr M he suggested I throw intralipids into mix on the donor cycle. I have no idea whether it will make any difference but I wanted to cover all bases and at the end of the day I thought it would do no harm.

TBH I'm also a bit confused re the frequency as I have come across lots of different timings - Dr M suggested around 7-10 before transfer then around the day of transfer and then again after a BFP... then monitoring during pregnancy and further infusions if required. I am booked in for another intralipid session at CFC next week a few days before my transfer but I may cancel as I think it might be overkill as from what I have read the benefits of today's session should last around 4-6 weeks. For info, the CFC intralipids cost 2500 rand and are a lesser dose (I think it's only around 200ml and takes about 1-1.5 hours). To arrange it I contacted the IVF coordinator Jenny and she booked me in with no questions asked. I am also with Dr Matebese.

If I'm lucky enough to get a BFP I will have another infusion with my Dr here in Cairns in around three weeks time. The cost of today's session was $35 for the intralipids from the chemist and around $95 for the Dr's consult and I'll get part of that back from medicare. I feel very fortunate that it has been so inexpensive and that is thanks to a lovely caring gem of a local GP that I managed to find with the help of another Cairns lady on BH who passed on his details.

Anyhow, I hope that helps. Wishing you the stickiest of BFPs on your cycle next month. Here's hoping that you, @MrsErinR, @faith15 and I will all be BFP buddies together this year. FF xx

Thanks @JulieMalooley for your warm wishes. I'm not a frequent poster but I've been keeping an eye on you from the sidelines for ages and your journey has been quite an inspiration to me. I can't believe you're at 20 weeks already! All the very best with your scan on Friday... looking forward to hearing about what your little ones are up to in that belly of yours. FFxx

Hi all... I just thought I would check in here as I am in the process of organising my upcoming egg donor cycle with CFC. I am consulting with Dr Heylen. It looks like i will be in Cape Town for a transfer around 20 Feb. Anyone else planning to be there around this time?

A question for those that had the Day 2 lining scan here..did you also organise the Progesterone in oil injections here? Heidi from CFC said she didnt think I could get here... is this true...maybe from a compounding pharmacy. Any one had experience with this or have you used a different drug regime.

Thanks in advance for your help and look forward to chatting

Hi Kylie764. I will be in CapeTown arriving 21st Feb, leaving 3rd March. How long will you be staying? I am open for a meet up.
You can get progesterone in oil injections here. I put the information in an earlier post in the #11 thread. Don't have the info on me but if you read back thru you'll find it. There's a pharmacy in NSW that does the cheapest and they mail order. Hope that helps.

I can't believe it either @faith15. I'm still surprisingly small I think for twins. I've been waiting impatiently for some significant movement and last night I finally got some ! The only way I can comfortably cuddle DP in bed now is spooning with me at back with my belly in the curve of his back. Was like that last night and got one big kick. DP was asleep so I didn't say anything then got another exactly the same and he would have felt it if I'd woken him after the first one... Oh well. and at the same time. It's still hard to believe we will have babies soon. I just can't imagine it.

Hi girls, congrats and goodluck to all! Can anyone tell me if they used sunshine for their donors and what is your opinion of them and experience with them? Are there any agencies you would stay away from? Maybe PM me if you think its better? Thank you x

Hi el! Been meaning to email you! Sounds like you're getting some plans together!! Good one. I used EDSA and found them great. No problems at all. To be honest I found the website easy to use and they were very fast in sending me the extended profiles I requested. I did have a look at the others but found a few quite quickly with them that I felt would be good. I literally went for the youngest proven donor with basically nothing in her family medical history that worried me. I think her gran had some heart thing but got better after quitting smoking! Good luck Hun let me know if I can help you out at all!

Hi @ Lolly99 im trying to plan my next trip but have hit a brick wall with trying to get a few tests through Dr M. Im just waiting on a new plan based on test results but its going slowly. Just looking around at donors but cant request anyone yet because we dont have a date. So just waiting waiting. Thanks for your tips. Do you think 25yrs is too old? Girl i like is 25 and a proven donor, but is a light smoker:/ not sure about that part. Hope your 12 week scan goes well. I wish I was part of that group! Gosh darn it! Xxx
