    HI There,
I am new to this thread and looking for some support > We are heading to Cape town for our first ED cycle in the middle of April. Very excited and nervous.

We had a hiccup with our first donor - once she agreed to cycle for us, our details were sent through to the clinic, and it was found she was in the middle of a cycle for someone else , through another agency!! We were devastasted and I had a good cry! She has now reached her pregnancy limit and we had to find another donor which we have done, so we are off !! I am looking for anyone who may be there around the same time and want to keep in contact and possibly meet up if feeling up to it.

First day back to reality after 2 weeks in SA. Jet lag is a real *****. Didn't expect it on the way home but lucky I gave myself a couple of days off before returning back to work. Half way through the dreaded 2ww and have decided I will wait until Tuesday 1st to have my BT so I can get through the first day of work before finding out the fate of my year. Holding off on poas to stop me from any possibility of wrong reactions again.

SA was a lot of fun other than a couple of minor meltdowns. Great to catch up with @kylie764 & @BB4Me. I look forward to us all being able to share good news together. Those gestone injections sure are a treat aren't they. NOT!

Happy to share our travels and costs if anyone would like to know anything. We drove 2000kms over the 2 weeks so got to see a lot.

For any who are travelling over soon and who would be looking to do a shark dive, please let me know as I have a 2 for 1 voucher. I also have a SA vodacom sim that still has lots of call and data credit.

Hope all is going to plan for all who are heading over shortly. And for those soon expecting good luck.

I've said it before and I'll say it again @Outoftime - careful what you wish for lol !!
Good luck @arall- its a surprisingly easy process once you are booked and/or there (in my opinion anyway). I too have twins on the way so beware !!! The strike rate for twins with CFC is huge !

    Hi all

Just a quick update from us after viability scan today. We have a singleton, measuring 7w1d which is exactly where I'm at. Heart beat was 139bpm.

I was a nervous wreck before scan. It doesn't get any easier second time around.
@Felicity Fox, you must be up for one soon?
@Outoftime, sorry to hear of your disappointing cycle but sending you lots of good sticky vibes.

@Outoftime you are amazing - no way in the world I could hold out without POAS... I barely lasted 2 days after transfer. Sending masses of sticky babydust your way. I will be stalking for your result on Tuesday.

@kylie764 how are you going? Any news?

@arall welcome to the thread. Wishing you all the very best for your cycle in April. It will be here in no time at all.

@Luca good luck with your cycle in April.

@BB4Me thanks for the info on the PIO - can you give me the details for the chemist in NSW... I'm alternating between pessaries and the last of my gestone this week but would really prefer the PIO if I can source it at a reasonable price. Sheesh I am kicking myself that I didn't bring some extra back with me from SA.

@MrsErinR Woo Hoo ... That's fantastic news. A lovely strong heart beat for 7 weeks... I was wondering how you were going, so thanks for updating. When will you be having your next scan?

AFM I had my first scan yesterday at 6 weeks 2 days - I was freaking out as well. I have absolutely no preg symptoms, thanks apparently to the Prednisolone, and I also made the mistake of POAS last Saturday for reassurance that everything was ok and the control line which was virtually non existent @ 18dpo started to get darker again @ 20 dpo so I stressed myself out with that. I've learnt my lesson that doing a FRER past 5 and a half or 6 weeks is a really bad idea as they reach some sort of HCG threshold where the lines can start doing funny things (apparently the 'hook effect' starting to kick in). Anyhoo... at least for the time being the scan has given me some serious peace of mind - my little lentil is measuring on track and has a perfect heartbeat of 123 bpm.

Hi @ferngirl thanks again for looking after the roll call - my updated details are - 2 transferred, expecting a singleton. Due date is 19 October.

I arrived back in Oz from Cape Town after having 1 ET on Saturday 20th March. Long long flight home so glad to be back home. After such long flights...over 24hrs including transfers... was glad of my choice (despite it being the longest time away - 9 nights - from my very active toddler) to leave my 18th month old home with my parents. Dr H says I can POAS on 29th. I will probably do a test tomorrow night..to prepare myself for a negative. But anyway.. it is out of my hands...so no point worrying about it. Only have 1 frostie out of my batch of 11 eggs...

Good luck to the other ladies... I met in Cape Town from Oz.

@Felicity Fox it's killing me but my GP has warned me not to POAS under any circumstances so I don't jump to any wrong conclusions. I will do a BT on Monday and have results Tuesday. Not a single sign or system of anything yet that you constantly read should be showing up by now. Except for really sore thighs from the gestone.

How did your transfer go @BB4Me?

Good luck @kylie764 I will be waiting to hear. Are you going to be able to get results before you are off on your next holiday ?

Hi @Outoftime try not to read too much into not having any symptoms at this early stage. In previous pregnancies the only symptoms I had were all related to the pessaries - constipation, gas and bloating - but even that is not happening this time as the gestone doesn't affect me to the same extent (just a little bloating). This time I had no symptoms during the 2WW or even now. Also, if you are on prednisolone it can mask the symptoms of pregnancy including morning sickness, fatigue and breast changes... I read somewhere that pred is actually given to women suffering from m/s to stop the nausea - so it is a well known effect of drug. Wishing you all the best for a lovely strong beta on Tuesday.
