I haven't posted here before but have read the thread on and off for the last year. It has been hugely instrumental to us in choosing to go the ED route and we're very grateful to everyone who posts here.
I just wanted to make people aware that CFC freeze any extra embryos in multiples ie I've just found out that we have 3 frozen together in one straw. I had stipulated at the time of my fresh cycle that I only ever wanted single transfers and signed a form requesting a single embryo transfer and thought that would be sufficient. While I'm over the moon that we have further embryos stored I am concerned that in the happy event that more than one thaws successfully - which I hope they do - that I will feel pressurised to put more than one in rather than refreeze any embryos. This could have been easily avoided if I had known upfront their usual practice.
I think Tahli mentioned this before but it was too late for us as the embryos had already been frozen.
Congratulations to all the recent positives and heartfelt sympathies to those going through repeated failures or losses - after 8 years of infertility I understand what a painful process this can be. I'm sitting beside my newborn little baby now though and it is all worthwhile.
