@Blossom74 this all sounds so frustrating and difficult. So effectively nothing has changed for the better and although it's not as bad as it could've been it's still worse. Add on more oop costs and now that we have to pay for all medicine and it seems another cycle will be out of reach for most. Funny how that article said not to give up before 9!
@Tahli it sounds like LB doesn't like hearing about what other FS are doing. I kind of understand that from her perspective as it takes away a bit from her skills and expertise but at the same time you have to ask questions and have a right to. Did you feel it was a frosty goodbye?

I got the call about an hour ago but didn't wanna spoil the day. So I called back just then. HCG is now at 48. Going slooowly down. The FS on today said stay on meds till Monday. It said noooo way. So the nurse is going to call my FS and talk to him. My FS wasn't doing results today. I wasn't happy. So I shall wait...

I've been busy today. Found a doc who looks into immune issues and have an appt next Friday. So off to my GP later today for a referral. It's all happening here

I too think I'm better off without all the extra drugs. But I dont wanna risk it. So confused with all this NK. Immune stuff....
Ah bugger I'm sorry @Precious40 I understand you wanting to come off the meds rather than stay on them My take on the immune stuff is that the nk cells aren't necessarily something that's wrong with us but that lowering the immune system will help stop our bodies naturally attacking an embryo and that it is quite high in some people. There is an nk cells thread too but hopefully the immune doc can clarify it for you. Xx

@Precious40 I hope you've heard back from your clinic now and you're able to come off the progesterone tonight. It sounds like you had a lovely day with your girlfriend. How are you feeling tonight without hubby? I hope your dogs are giving you lovely cuddles.

Yep, we will all be copping it.

That's the thing with IVF pricing - nothing is stable, and every year you are at the discretion of both the Government AND your clinic.

I'd be interested to hear from others who are coming up to their first Stims/FET's for the year as to how their pricing has been affected. How has all this impacted on your cycle costs, hospital fees, medication costs etc in comparison to previous attempts?

I forgot to ask. when I started to do a FET at my first clinic last year I think it was going to be around $1500. it ended up being cancelled due to strange levels (then a couple of days later my appendix came out). this one will be at the hospital so not sure if FETs are cheaper there too. I'm just assuming it wouldn't be more than $1500 (& DP & I go halves so I can handle this amount). but since medicare safety net probably just reset we won't get as much refund this time. I'll let you know once I get the bill
