If there was no self serve I would let them in. If there was self serve I am not sure. If they has a bottle if wine they couldn't go through the self we've so I would like to let then in. If they were just oblivious I wouldn't like to let them in. Not sure how I would know though.

If there were self serve check outs or express check outs free, I wouldn't offer them my spot.

I'm cranky today though so I wouldn't let anybody in front of me right now haha. Then I'd go home and feel bad about it all night.

I'm mean and don't (although I shop at Aldi). I don't because DS is 2 and difficult to wrangle anyway and I just want to get out of there. The only time I do is if they have 2 or 3 thinfs and we are still unpacking and the previous person was finished.

    I am a horrible person

if they were old and obviously had no idea how the self serve check outs work then yeah I probably would offer them to go ahead of me.

if they're young then no. the self serve is so easy so I figure if they've chosen to make a rod for their own back and suffer through the checkout queue, then that's their choice and I don't owe them my place in line.

plus I'm 33 weeks pregnant so I don't think I owe anything to anyone in terms of doing them favours. it's hot, I'm pregnant, I was in front of you to begin with plus I probably need to pee desperately. you ain't getting my spot 😂

Honestly it's not something that I would have ever noticed or thought about before.

They chose to line up behind me, they can wait.

Last time I checked the supermarket queue worked on a basis on who got there first, not who's got the least amount of items.

Yeah I don't even think to check out the people behind me... I'm usually on a mission to find the smallest trolley to line up behind and race the others to get the ideal aisle... Then I constantly watch the checkouts around me to see who picked the winner... No time to let people push in when there's a race going on that only I know about ...

Default Supermarket awkwardness - hand basket people

I'm in a bad mood today so my answer is pretend I couldn't see them, or I might like to let them through, but I actually hate it when people offer to let me go first, I have social anxiety and I don't like people paying attention to me like that and then I feel awkward and out of place the whole time I'm being served but I feel awkward if I turn down their offer. Man my heads exploding 😂

I have let people through before if the just have a couple of things.

The most recent was at Costco just prior to Christmas. I had a trolley loaded with stuff (as you do at Costco) and let someone through who literally just had a tray of chicken wings.

It was my good deed for the day 😊

I shop at Aldi, so always let people through if they only have an armful of stuff while I have a full trolley. Takes me that long to get everything up on the belt I may as well put the cashier to work instead of them just waiting for me 😂

What alliecat89 said. I never let people through and I've never thought to; I've never been let through either. As far as I'm concerned you line up and wait your turn, that's how the supermarket works.
