Default Anyone snipped a tongue or lip tie in older Bub?

My DD2 is nearly 1 and has a upper lip tie and also a tongue tie and like her older sister started to get lazy with her latch around 10 months. But DD2 feeding is starting to become quite painful I'm considering getting the lip tie cut.

I really don't know much about it other then LC and speechie diagnosing both. Anyone had a snip in older baby? Her lip tie is significant enough that when her top teeth come through they will have a gap around the tissue. Any advice??

If you're on Facebook, join the Tongue & Lip Tue Support Australia group. Loads of stories on there

My now 3yo had a big gap from his ULT. He fell and tore it himself at around 1 and the gap closed. He does still have a PTT though which we are revising soon.

Thanks for your reply i will check out the group I have done a bit of ringing around and apparently she will need to go under general anaesthetic to have it snipped as she is older and it's too traumatic. Think I will just have to suck up the painful feeding.

My DS2 was done at 8 weeks but was done with a laser. I know that a friend whose Bub was done at 18 months had to go under general anaesthetic, as the procedure is too traumatic and they are more aware by that age. We decided to do the laser, even though he was feeding fine, to eliminate the chance of speech problems or issues in mouth / teeth etc. development. The laser procedure was horrendous and I wouldn't even attempt to pin my 1y/o down for it.
He has upper lip and tongue done.

    Good luck X
