Default I need your best BBQ recipes

We are getting a BBQ and I would love to try some new recipes. I need some inspiration other than the usual steak or lamb chops.

What do you love to cook on the BBQ?

We cook heaps - these are a few of what we've been doing over xmas

Bbq king prawns with garlic lime butter

Thread 1 green king prawn on each skewer lengthways, peeled, head off but keep tail on, make butter by just grating 2 cloves of garlic, salt and pepper, zest and juice of 1 lime into melted butter and brush over prawns - cook on really hot bbq for 3 minutes, basting with the butter until cooked ( you can do the same with scallops but just cook them directly on hot the plate while basting with butter for 1 minute one side and 30 seconds the other)

    Bbq baby octopus
Boil the octopus the night before in fish or chicken stock for about 60 minutes until tender, drain and marinate in sweet chilli sauce, garlic, red wine vinegar , olive oil, lemon juice and fresh parsley then cook when ready on high heat bbq for about 5-8 minutes ( it's already cooked so your just Charing it!)

Sword fish and haloumi kebabs ( could use salmon or tuna)

Cube the fish, haloumi cheese and red onion and marinate with garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper , olive oil and oregano for a few hours, thread onto skewers and bbq about 10 mins until cooked

    Rum and coke pork ribs

Marinate pork ribs with 2 cans of coke, 1 cup of rum, chili, garlic, tomato purée and brown sugar over night - cook in 180 oven the next day for about 2-3 hours before your guests come - drain marinade and boil down in small saucepan - then when ready to eat cook on bbq for 5-10 minutes basting with reduced marinade ( this is a pete evans recipe if you want to google)

Corn cobs! Kids love them too. We like to baste ours with a little melted butter, sweet chilli and lime (although not necessary). Bbq corn is sooo good and cheap & easy.

    Sweet potato with cinnamon butter
Just cook it wrapped in foil on the BBQ with butter and cinnamon to taste - come out really yummy. Time depends on how big the sweet potato is.
I do a whole one in its skin in the foil and then open up the foil to cut the sweet potato open towards the end and put the butter & cinnamon inside it, re seal the foil and cook for the last 10 minutes.

We've been making these ginger and honey chicken wings quite a bit lately

Other things we do are kebabs, you can do any kind of protein or veggie that you like but I've been doing cubed chicken thighs (I find the breast dries out pretty quickly), spanish onion, cherry tomato, mushroom and zucchini and just alternate on a skewer and then marinate in whatever you like (Olive oil, garlic, balsamic vinegar and herbs is yummy) and then chuck on the BBQ, basting with the marinade as you cook them.
