Default St John of God Midland - Public

Hi, as the new St John of God Midland has only recently opened, I was wondering if anyone had delivered there yet and would like to share their experience?

    TIA

I delivered there on the 28th November - 4 days after it opened.
What would you like to know?

Four days! Wow. Was it good, did everything seem organised?

It was lovely, all nice and new.

It wasn't as organised as you'd like, simply because some of the people that looked after us were actually on their first shift at the hospital and didn't know where everything was kept etc. I'm positive that would all be sorted out by now and everyone would be familiar with the place. I asked for a blanket in the birth suite after DD2 was born & it took 2 midwives to figure out where they were kept! It was amusing rather than frustrating, I did take the fact that everything and everyone was new into account.

Every maternity suite is a single room with its own ensuite so you would never have to share a room & there's a sink shaped like a baby bath next to your bed, so you pretty much never have to leave your room for anything, unless you're going to the nursery with your bub for whatever reason. The meals were okay, fairly basic. The cold food was pretty good and they feed you fairly often, but the hot food wasn't as nice. Standard hospital food I guess.

Just keep an eye on your blinds - because the building is sort of a square shape with a courtyard in the middle, you can see into other rooms at night if they don't have their blinds closed!
