I'm putting this in the challenge section instead of the journal section because I'd love some people to join me in a walking challenge.
I've been inspired by a man called Ben Pobjoy (you can google him) to walk 2016 miles in 2016. He did kilometers but I already walk a lot and run a few times a week and doing the Maths I thought that was too easy for me- I want to push myself! With this challenge I'll have to walk an average of 8.9km a day to make it. That's a serious challenge! I'm thinking that on the days I go for a run I'll be able to bank some extra kms, and not have to walk quite so much on the other days.
I currently run 5k 3 times a week- one of them used to be a longer run of 10k but I was having back problems so cut it back to 5k and swapped to walking the 3.5k to work 2 or 3 times a week. I'm on my feet at work a fair bit and am fairly active in general (I don't drive so have to walk most places!) so I reckon I can do this.
I have a vivofit to track my distances and will upload them weekly.
