And yes i do think suit pants and a nice shirt is appropriate (male), skirt, nice shirt heels, dress etc. Christening a/weddings etc are formal not some sort of birthday in the park

Next week add the string bikini and thongs (it's too hot up north for uggies) lol.

Oops...I wore one to a wedding about a month ago! And I wasn't the only one either. 😂

I think the string might disappear in my many rolls of fat and nobody wants to see that.
Thongs 50% of people in church wear thongs.

@monnie24 Maxi dresses can be very elegant, formal and classy.... There are many styles and not all are beachy. Any of the following would be totally acceptable for a Christening (there are hundreds I just found, but since you asked for examples, what do you think of these? Even teamed with a cardi if you feel dressier doing so).
I LOVE maxi dresses, so comfy and versatile 😃

Here's a more beachy one, maybe these types are what you think of @monnie24 ?

Even still, I agree with others, such a direct request and fairly restrictive dress code seems over the top, Christening or not..

I intend on getting my bridesmaids to possibly wear maxi dresses or something similar. Some are very casual but there are a lot at very cheap prices that are quite dressy

Definitely, I was more thinking that for a special occasion that you have been invited to it's common courtesy to make some sort of effort.
I don't think God would care at all if you came to church in a string bikini either, but other humans might have an issue with it.
