That sounds really hard Tildy. It's hard for the little ones to understand

Welcome to the three of you nice to have others who understand the ups and downs.

AmyEL my DF is 2/1 and we are in Perth also. Where is your partner based? Mine is Tom Price.

GingerMillie I would struggle with random trips away. I need to routine and to know what going on.

DH flew out this morning the first day always sucks! Even though we have been doing it all our relationship I still hate saying goodbye

Our 2 cope ok with it, DS (3yo) has a little cry & then that is it, we have a couple of the FIFO books that we read to them to help the understand... Plus I'm always very positive about it, if DS says he misses Daddy I just say 'I know, I miss him too, he is the best Daddy, he works so hard for us so Mummy can stay home with you & your sister' I just repeat that & all the positive stuff, like he'll be home for a 'whole' week... It's very 'normal' life to them now. My DD(1yo) is such a mummy's girl she copes just fine as long as Mummy isn't far!!

Hugs! The first day is the worst. I hate getting home from the airport to a house without DF. 😪

I don't drop him off anymore, it's too early for kids (4am) so he catches a taxi, it's a very sleepy goodbye... Then back to sleep till kids wake up.

My DH is in a similar boat to yours @gingermillie always last minute trips. We were given 2 hours notice for the last 2 trips and moved forward by a few days the trip before that which really throws the kids. If my girls know when he's leaving and can say their goodbyes, we are usually ok but telling them once they get home from school is all tears.

DH broke the news that he has 2 x 4 month trips coming up argh!

So you all know how DH flew out yesterday well today has been a mission!! Last night our dog shat everywhere! I heard her at 5am & discovered the mess!!!! So I was then up for an hour trying to clean up without waking the kids.... I finally got back to bed & DS got up to go to the toilet... I then had 30 mins before he was up again for the day... I'm knackered! After hiring a carpet cleaner from Bunnings (with 1yo & 3yo) in toe, keeping them happy (playdough & picnic lunch outside so I could clean inside)... I'm supposed to be on a diet but I've had 3 coffees & 4 biscuits today! And I've put alcohol in the fridge for later!!! Why does this **** always happened when DH is away!!

Plus I finally ovulated today, we are trying for #3, seeing that OPK go positive was bitter sweet (sweet cause I actually ovulated, as I have PCOS & bitter cause he's already gone!)

Anyway vent over.... Bring on 7pm!

Oh no, I'm sorry you've had a bad day

If you BD just before your DH left you might still be in with a chance to conceive.
