I live in thongs for 9 months of the year. If I could wear them to work, I would.

I love wearing active wear and not exercising. Two of my favourite things.

I'm a huge Ford fan and love the V8s.

I drive a Ford station wagon with transformers and my family stickers once proudly displayed and will be replaced shortly.

I always wear toenail polish and it is always chipped/patchy. Occasionally I paint over the paint that's already there so you can't see the chips.

I love pub rock music and music from the eighties. Also love me a bit of country.

I wear trackies in winter, in public. I don't own uggies but that's because I'm always too broke to buy some due to my Red Bull addiction.

I LOVE the logo shirts from K Mart. I'm wearing a Coca Cola one right now.

    I drink sweet lips moscato.

I used to smoke Winnie Blues.

I have BIG plans for when I win the lotto and buy a ticket every week.

    I park on the footpath.

I have two cats who I let outside.

    Our driveway is gravel.

Our lawn is always overgrown and our garden beds are full of weeds.

DD has proudly written her name in Nikko on the front of the house.

I think "new bogan" is more appropriate. Or "cashed up bogan"; think young men during the mining boom who come from a background of relative lower wealth suddenly having a lot of cash to splash. They would go and spend on things they thought were classy, but because so many of them were doing it, it has lowered the stature of those items, making them common. That's where the down lights and coffee table joke comes from, and now I'm guessing Pandora.

    - have a Pandora (actually I have 3)
    - wear thongs all of summer
    - drink beer & cider from a bottle (all kinds even VB 😦)
    - have a coffee table
    - lots of tattoos
    - had lots of piercings
    - used to have acrylic nails
    - often have regrowth although never did when blonde
    - swear, a lot. Although not around DD who is starting to talk

    I'd say I'm pretty bogan!!

Finally makes sense!! All but the coffee table. It would be the last thing I'd want to buy if I was poor and came into money.

So based on your explanation, I'm going to add BMWs to the list of bogan things. I can't stand them but it seems that once people can afford a 'luxury' car BMWs are the car of choice.

For me, I think it's not so much that Pandora is intrinsically bogan (although I think they're ugly), it's more that the only people I know who wear them ARE bogans so now there's a bogan association for me. Does that make sense?

Same with Guess branded things. I also think its because they are a little 'over the top' with branding.

With BMW's it is a 'class' thing. I live in Brisbane and it is actually more of a snooty business man car. I think Mercedez is more 'cashed up bogan'. They have loads of 'affordable payment plans' (take note it is a rip off) which makes them the car of a bogan choice in my opinion.
