(My first thought is that your toddler is not tired enough due to the long day nap).
This is what I would suspect. My DS is up until 8-8.30 with a day nap. So either drop day nap or shorten it or a later bed time.

No suggestions for the bed thing as I lie with my DS until he falls asleep.

Same here with my 23 month old. We've had some luck with an earlier shorter nap but if he has a decent nap he won't sleep until 8:30-9pm. I do similar to twinklify where I feed him/lie with him until he falls asleep.

The past week we've had a few earlier than normal starts (6-7am instead of 7-8am) and that has helped a little with an earlier, shorter nap.

Eta. We have coslept since the beginning and still ds gets out of bed in the evening. I think it's a toddler thing. I've had some luck tag teaming with dh. I do the initial feed/bed and if ds gets up, dh takes over putting him to bed (he sings to ds).
