They make the final assessment and base their decision on that. As was in my case. As I wrote in my earlier post, one child got it, the other didn't. Both have formal diagnoses. Level 1 and 2. I have health cards for both. I'm not the only one who's fallen off the back of that wagon either. There are many others in the same boat. The system is woefully overloaded, the projected need was vastly underestimated and there's simply not enough money to go around. This is why we're experiencing slow cuts in the welfare system. Schoolkids bonus? Gone. Vaccination bonus? Tighter and gone for some. FTA and FTB? Keep an eye out this July.

Put it this way: the government has robbed Peter to pay Paul.
Geez, it's a worry. I'm sorry to hear one of your children didn't qualify for the funding. This is a bit of an eye opener for me. I feel for any parent who is denied support that their child needs

So far yes, I haven't been able to get a spot at the one I really wanted and his behaviour has improved a lot

Thanks for asking @lillypilly, i got a referral a couple of weeks ago and have spoken with the Paeds office, they discussed my concerns at their intakes meeting last week and said they would get back to me with an appointment but we haven't heard back yet. I'm hoping I hear this week!
