    Default Parenting fail #10045

Well I had a major parenting fail today. I thought I would share.

I burnt my fruitcake. No biggie but the smoke alarm went off. Again no biggie. Until ds3 was telling daddy the story.

Well it turns out that I have taught through my actions (ok I have burnt a few things) that when the smoke alarm goes of you open the doors and windows. Not that you leave the building.

A few years ago I had the stranger danger talk with DD then 5ish. Did the whole don't go near a car that pulls up, don't talk to strangers in cars, etc.

Asked DD what she would do if someone in a car pulled up and offered her lollies and she said "say thank you". Hmm had the stranger danger and manners talks all rolled into one. Needless to say, more stranger danger talks were had.
