A referral from the GP to an adult psychiatrist. They can assess and are the ones that can prescribe meds if needed.

    Hi,
I was diagnosed with ADHA as a adult not a child. They will need to go to the doctor and get a referral to a psychiatrist that is the best way. I spoke with a psychologist for a while but to be honest in my opinion the psychiatrist really got to the route of my issues and struggles with everyday life and helped with medication. I am now functioning without medication though and doing great. I will say they may also need a family member to be present to answer questions from the perspective of that person as a child.
If you can get one covered by Medicare generally you will pay $160 ish and get $110 back
