    a what is the gift
b is it a large company (ie how many employees)and have you worked there long
c are you happy with the gift?

Feel free to answer for yourself or your partner.

I am organising presents for staff this year so the above questions are on my mind.

Ive made gifts for employers for this purpose (wooden pens) have not been employed iver the Christmas season since 93.

Best present i was given was 4 weeks holiday pay even though I had only started with the company in the middle of October.

Nope. I'm a nurse and we get nada.

DH also gets nothing. He is the foreman of the factory for about 15 guys, probably 25 permanent staff in the company. They were going to get chicken treat for lunch, that's it. Also hasn't had a pay rise in 4 yrs

No gifts, no christmas bonus, no christmas off.

Christmas decorations only happened because staff bought them themselves from their own pocket.

Yes - Bottle of Marc Jacobs new Decadence Perfume - the other girls got Jimmy Choo and Eli Saab perfume packs, the boys got Gucci

    - we have 10 staff ( including me and DH) so definitely a small business

    - I'm happy with the gift as I bought them 😜

Our head office ( we own a franchise) just sent DH and I these gorgeous french cheese knives in a timber box which I adore!

In previous years we have received the following..

    Backpack
    Picnic rug
    Cheeseboard
    Cooler bag
    Golf Umbrella
    Towel

It's lovely we get gifts but they're all corporate branded so wherever you use these items, you're essentially advertising the company for free. At least they're useful items!

Last year rather than a gift they donated whatever money they would supposedly spend on gifts to the staff emergency fund. Basically it's a fund set up to help staff in times of financial hardship. If anyone is in a dire way they can apply for financial assistance. I actually think we were undersold because there's no way what they donated would even come close to what they would actually spend on gifts. I think it was a cost cutting measure...

It may sound greedy, but while the thought it nice, something tangible would be a much nicer recognition of how hard we've been working our asses off. We get screwed over on a lot of things so it would be nice to have something to say they appreciate how hard we're working. I'm not saying anything massive. Heck, even a handwritten/personalised card from the executives would be a nice thank you.

It is a large hospital. I would hazard a guess there are a few thousand employees all up.

Last year when I was still working I got a gift voucher from Endota Spa from my employer. That company has about 30 - 35 staff. I was pleased with the gift, the massage I got was pretty good (but I've had better, wasn't the absolute best massage I've ever had).

TBH the best Christmas gifts I've received have been cash bonuses. Christmas is expensive and the cash was always really helpful. Got $500 from one employer one year!
