Default TTC Positive Ovulation test for 5 days

    Hi,
My partner and I are currently TTC with our first child. This is the second month of trying and first time using the ovual prediction kit for ovulation, the first 3 I took I was ovulating and then the last 6 days straight It has been coming back positive. I am a bit confused as to what is going on so I would like to hear other women's experience with this . I have heard it could mean pregnancy or that there is something is wrong.
    Please help thank you!

When you say positive, is the test line as dark or darker then the control?

My fertility specialist advises that the most effective plan when TTC is to DTD every second day through your fertile window. You don't need to hit the exact day that you ovulate so don't let the OPKs stress you out.

Over in the IVF forums a few of us have used them for fun when having cycle tracking with blood tests and found they aren't 100% accurate anyway, more of a guide.

    Good luck

Thanks so much ☺️ that's exactly what we have been doing although now we are getting a bit tired everyday and now every second day lol it was great at the start but I think with the end of the year now it's a bit tiring. We did it three days before the 13th December which is the first day I showed the ovulation on the stick. So even now that it is still showing ovulation should we be still doing it every second day?

It's so interesting tracking the ovulation it's the first time I have done it and I'm a 28 day cycle so far it seemed like its clock work as Ovulation occurred on the 14th day. I just was worried something may be wrong with my body with the ovulation results being for so many days now.

This is my first cycle with OPKs, do you temp as well? I have found it really useful to temp, as your temp will spike when you have ovulated. Don't let the OPKs stress you as that won't help ttc anyways.

Oh cool! I haven't yet tried it, sorry if this sounds a little dumb but is that where you test your temperature on a daily basis around ovulation and when it rises you're ovulating ?
I have found the OPK a little stressful only because all of these positives we are getting a bit tired with work and holidays etc hahaha

You temp every morning, as soon as you wake up before doing anything else, not even stretching, anything can raise your temp. I'm not entirely sure on what it raises by, but it's usually the 3 over 6 method I think it is. So you have 3 high temps over the last 6 low temps. I use the Kindara app and there is loads of info in there knowledge base section.

    I copied this from there
The first phase is called the follicular phase. This phase starts on the first day of your period, each cycle, and ends at ovulation. Your BBT will show a set of low temperatures during this time, usually ranging from 97.0 to 97.6 F (36.11 to 36.44 C).
After ovulation is the luteal phase. The day after you ovulate, your BBT will rise to a higher range (usually between 97.7 and 98.3 F, or 36.50 to 36.83 C), and will remain in this higher range for the rest of your cycle. Progesterone, which is produced by the corpus luteum during the luteal phase, is what raises your body's temperature.

So so temping will tell you when you have ovulated as your temp rises after you have ovulated.
But it's important to get an accurate chart to temp every morning.

Wow I might do my research and try it. I feel like I am never a good judge at getting the fitly things correct even the ovulation kit was a bit overwhelming figuring it all out but I have learnt so much. It's funny in high school they say how easy it is to fall pregnant but in reality it's amazing how many things come in to play. I'm really hoping for a positive pregnancy test this cycle I wouldn't know what to do with myself !
