    I'm confused why the casual employee is getting let go though.

    For collusion, she used that information to pressure DH for a certain salary when they discussed her going full-time. Shows poor character and not someone he wants in his company. Because she is casual he can let her go with no problem.

    Yep I got you. I thought it may have been a passing comment sort of thing but if she actually used that information and pressured to get a similar pay then that's definitely wrong.

    No the bookkeeper isn't casual, the other lady is that DH found out about yesterday, that had been getting information off the bookkeeper about salaries is - the bookkeeper is full-time!

    I think you've nailed it @delirium - definitely sounds like her, very good at her job but has taken "ownership" of it which is not quite right and then is incredibly emotional and needs an unrealistic amount of praise and validation.

    Definitely no empathy, not once has she maybe put herself in DHs shoes and imagined how bad he would feel to have a generous gesture thrown back in his face. I'm glad she'll be finishing up, DH has enough stress without having to hand-hold his staff!

    Ooohhhh! I didn't know there was such a thing as instant dismissal for big issues, I thought no matter what there had to be three warnings, counseling etc - I've been out of the normal corporate world for a long time though! DH will have to look into that if they haven't worked out a resignation today.
