sorry if this is a silly question, I'm making 2 lots of cupcakes for ds2's daycare class tomorrow for his birthday... if i ice them tonight, am i able to leave them out (but in a container?) it's just icing mix and butter. or do i need to put them in the fridge?

For buttercream I would put them in the fridge.

    Fridge. Especially if it's warm.

I just went through this for DD's birthday, buttercream icing in the fridge, non butter icing can stay out but in this heat it probably should go in fridge too.

I made some the other day and left them out overnight in a sealed container. They were demolished at kindy the following day. They had pretzel reindeer antlers so the fridge would have softened them. The chocolate buttercream icing held out fine. I think less than 24 hours is fine unless your house is really hot.

Fridge definitely - Brisbane is too hot to leave them out.
