Sorry, yes, you're correct midnite. At least that link raises some good points to think about when considering surrogacy if nothing else. X

I think I'll talk to DP tonite when he gets home later and see how he feels about it. If he's open to it I'm gonna ring LB's rooms and see if it's possible from their side- I don't know if I'd get an FET plan AND have time to get in to see my nurse in time.. But if they can then I'll find out if Dr M can do the intrallipids... It's all a long shot. I think DP might say lets just stick with Feb regardless of Medicare bcos it'll be such a mad rush.
The dates are set by Medicare - it's not related to when you are issued or pay accounts. For a stim cycle the service date is when you start stim meds - even if the account is not issued until later, that's the date Medicare uses. They'd have similar rules for FETs. I'd think though, that we'll all hit the safety net again next year? If we get pregnant we will and if we are cycling we will, so in the bigger scheme the mad rush might not be worth it? If the safety net had changed (and it still might... guessing probably will) then it would be a whole different ball game. I think it's great you've got a plan though. I know that is what gets me through the troughs and keeps me going.

Just a thought... @Summer - have you looked at California for known donors? My understanding is that there laws are similar to ours, in that details have to be registered and are provided to the child at 18. Donors are paid, so there are more of them?

Hi, hoping it is ok to post in here.

Wondering if perhaps there are some Perth ladies on here who can give recommendations (PM's welcome too) for an over 40's friendly clinic.

We have been TTC #2 for a year now, the plan was if it happened it happened but with several family members announcing pregnancies recently suddenly the want for another is much stronger!! #1 took 2.5years to conceive (naturally) and arrived just prior to my 40th birthday. In the past 12 months I have had 3 early losses (chems) with nothing getting past 5 weeks.

Anyway, long story short. Looking for a clinic/specialist that will offer perhaps meds to improve number/quality of eggs and timed intercourse options to an over 40. We did go to one clinic for assessment when TTC #1 but they were only interested in offering IVF based on my age (and I was only 37 then!). Unfortunately it is not really on the table for us finance wise.

Oh no not Bieber @Blossom . Bob has bad musical tastes - play him some Kenny Rogers or something to get his love on. Seriously though I am glad she has picked up that is great news. Speaking of gay today I was Facebook snooping an ex from many years ago and I found out he is now gay. Something my husband had great joy in telling me that I must of turned him gay. Not that there is anything wrong with that but well it does explain the average s.ex, I used to think it was because we were young and inexperienced now I know it wasn't that. Well my D and C is done and dusted. I feel great actually no pain. I have also chosen my donor she looks nothing like me but she is absolutely stunning, 24 yrs old and has done 2 previous cycles both resulting in twin pregnancies first transfer for the intended mums. I was a bit reluctant because she is quite dark where as I and hubby are very fair and I am still undecided about if we will tell any children about them been donor babies but her profile was outstanding she is very healthy ect and shares same height and build as me. It is quite hard selecting a donor but she feels right. Also my mum reminded me that most of my family are olive skinned and darker just not me so I could have had a darker featured baby with my own eggs anyway as they quite often throw back. @Bongley a BFP is s good sign hopefully it gets darker and darker for you.

Thank you Tahli Corbes Lolly99 Midnite 01 and Charlie 74 ... and no Charlie that's not a stupid question at all... m like have a younger sis who lives in mel. But she has had her own baby recently after ivf and a very difficult pregnancy. .. and ya if we need to go down that way. . Talking to friends is a good way. . U are not even allowed to advertise for surrogacy in Aus .. even if it's for altruistic and genuine purpose. ... and Charlie hopefully u r feeling lighter after the cry with dp... it's sad but we got to move on hugs. .

The US is abt the 100000 mark ... so bloody expensive and SA .. U need to reside there.. Any other countries anyone knows of ? Thanks
