I've accepted that if OE cycles don't get us anywhere then we'll move to DE, because family to us is about more than genetics.. MUCH MUCH more... But looking at my little niece almost makes me feel a bit sad that i may never have a child that looks like my family, (don't even care that much about whether it would look like me strangely!) but like mum, or dad, or anyone else in my family.. Or it's cousins.. But I guess that's a grieving process that you just have to cross when you get there.
@Charlie74 I'm so thrilled and relieved for you that your niece doesn't have meningitis. That must be such a relief, but at the same time you've all just been through a rollercoaster, so must be exhausted. I hope her health settles swiftly.

I must admit, since starting IVF we've had some extra pangs when seeing my niece and nephew too. We adore them, but now we feel sad too. It's a very conflicted feeling.

Just wondering, your sister couldn't be your donor? You've probably already thought of it, but that would sort the genetic link.

Yep, I'm another one that says this and in some cases I know they are older than me.

It's weird as I look at all women differently now and think "I bet she could get knocked up in seconds, but no doubt that would be her worst nightmare right now". This would not have occurred to me before TTC.

You girls really are super cray cray for the sticks aren't you? I knew I'd heard about it, but this is the first time I've been on here when it happened!

Great news @Bongley and I too shall await the next installment!
