Good morning everyone, hope you're all having a nice Sunday morning
BlondeinBrisvegas I think you had something in your post about sperm quality and with 3 failed OE cycles and a failed DE cycle I personally think my FS needs to look more closely at that. I feel like it always " oh bad eggs" speech, I'm not taking that as an answer this week when I go back but then if he says oh maybe it is the sperm I'll be livid!!

I was going to request a sperm defragmentation test, DP already had poor count, motility and morphology so it's probable DNA is dodgy as well.
Does anyone have experience with this test? And if so what supplements were recommended and did they work?
So much more information available on here than the clinics give you!!!

I think that's a really good idea Luv and it never hurts to cover all bases IMO.

Here's the list of supplements for you and any of the other Lovelies who may be interested that Wazza has most of his Guys/Girls on to help maximise sperm and egg quality. Hopefully one of his current Lovelies will update it if needed

For Her: Folic Acid (Megafol brand usually over the counter at the chemist) 1x5mg tab a day, Berroca 1x day (I substituted a Mega B capsule instead), Fish Oil 1000mg's a day, Zinc- 40mg's a day, Vitamin E 500mg's (1000iu) a day, Co-Enzyme Q10 200-400mg's a day (I did 300 mg's a day), Low dose aspirin 100mg's a day, DHEA 3x25mg caps a day, Melatonin 1x5mg capsule at night. I also added Vit D as I was low in it and Fresh Royal Jelly (1/2tsp a day) but you could take it capsule form too.

For Him: Aloe Vera Juice 20mls at night, Zinc 40mg's, Pumpkin seeds >10 per day (I just gave DP 1 tbs of peppita's every day), Folic Acid 5mg's a day, Goji berries 1xtbs a day or 20 mls a day of Goji berry juice, Selenium 100mcg/day.

You can take all of these right up until EPU (except the DHEA, you have to decrease to 1 capsule a day from Day 2 of stimms until EPU). You also need a script for the DHEA/Melatonin here in Aus and have it made up at a Compounding Chemist.

Some of the Girls here on BH buy it online from o/seas. I think they use sites like iherb to purchase it??

I also added a Cenovis All in one Multivitamin for Men to this list for DP. I used to put it in containers into his lunchbox every day for him to take bar the Aloe Vera/Goji Berry juice which he'd have at night.

I'm sure some of the other Lovelies who's other halves do have sperm issues will be able to advise also on what other supplements/possible treatments to have that might help

@BlondeinBrisvegas thanks so much. Im really hoping we get a miracle to. I know hubby has great sperm according to his initial testing also he is only 34 with no health problems. No isssues so far. But he was taking multivitamin with this last cycle and its the only time ive gotten pregnant so you might be onto something there. Yes definitely more investigation required or at least more supplements. If we get some money together we will definitely be on those supps for at least 3 months.

Good morning everyone else. Sun is shining and i will be vaccuming and mopping today oh yay

@Lolly99 I bought towels yesterday...but from Aldi. Not only am I boring too, but cheap also!! Doona cover is next. I'll check out Myer online. I loooove linen. So tragic!!!
Because you'll be creating a nursery, have you seen the 3 Sprouts brand. I've just bought some more of their storage.
PS: My favourite brand for designing a nursery is Belle and Boo. It's hard to go wrong with their soft shades and gorgeous illustrations.

Hi @BlondeinBrisvegas do you know why he has you on the aspirin every day? Also what is melatonin? I've been reading up on dhea. I've pretty much self medicated on supplements since starting IVF..

@MissDa that bloody old egg speech!

Our FS#1 blamed my age constantly and other than ICSI said DH could do nothing - DH asked every cycle and did his own research (which as a health professional and researcher was pretty thorough). Our ideas knocked back - nothing needed to be done. Basic cycles - 2 or 3 day transfers and BFNs. He also didn't treat my PCOS, Adenomyosis and kept forgetting I have endo.

We then went to Wazza who off the same SA identified a number of issues . He put DH on BIB's list, plus some prescription meds to address specific issues - excessive white blood cells, inflammation and a few other things. DH also has to wear boxers, sit on an ice pack for 30-60 minutes/day, and ejaculate every day/other day. First cycle with 1-2 week of supplements we got our first blast (I'd say more protocol than supplements at that point) - the nurse said when a few fell over at day 3-4 that that is quite likely sperm issue. For second cycle (2 months of supplements) + PICSI ($200) we got 4 blasts including 2 PGD normal. The second cycle was also the first cycle we got 10+ eggs that were mature - 70% fert rate (one PGD normal didn't take and the other frozen). PICSI is to identify normal sperm of higher quality and doesn't harm it in any way. It put up the fert rate and staying power of the embies. We're about to start #3 with Wazza, so hopeful all of this comes together.

Further to @BlondeinBrisvegas - with DHEA he is taking me off it at day 25 this cycle - we heard this via the nurse so will ask him about it when we see him next. Previously was as per BIB's instructions, so we'll see if that is just me or he has changed the protocol.

    Good luck.
