I was so gutted when I took my tax return in last year and they told me I couldn't claim, the accountant said he had many clients in the same position, I nearly cried and he felt so bad he kept apologising.

@Infinity I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I really feel for you and DH.

I'm happy to PM you our costs, but the safety net will have restarted for the new year and for our cycles with Wazza we had full safety net rebate as we'd done other cycles earlier in the year with another FS - so far from exact. I also haven't kept track of the cost of the vitamins, supplements, and extra drugs, and they add up too. (We also had ICSI/PICSI, embryoscope and growth hormones - all extra $$). We have an embryo banked, but haven't been billed yet...

We have PHI and my very rough guess (disclaimer, disclaimer) would be that you could maybe do 2 cycles with him (incl PGD) for the cost of the $13.5 (3-4 cycles without PGD), but as your final go I imagine depending on your age etc the odds of a take-home baby would be much higher with donor eggs or embryos. Wazza will take you through all the options (incl rough costs) for oe and donor, plus consider non-egg factors (if applicable).

Would the low-cost clinics be an option for you? I know of one affiliated with QFG and another with Monash in Brisbane, but I'm sure there are more.

Let me know if you want our non-exact numbers and I'll pull them out. You'd have to ask him for success rates. I think he is brilliant whether you go OE or DE. He just wants his couples to have bubs.

@infinity888 My last Cycle in Dec 2013 cost us roughly $12,000 (it was actually more but I just broke down the costs for Cycle fee's supplements for both of us, hospital fee's, Wazza's fee's etc ..no PGD or PHI) up front.

We got refunded almost $6300 back (plus a little at tax time) so were out of pocket roughly $5700 at the time. You'd have to see how much QFG/Wazza have increased their fee's (check their website/call Wazza's rooms & ask some of the Girls over on the Wazza Appreciation thread) since then and how much your PHI would refund you too (if you have it???).

    Hope this helps

@infinity888 if you really do want one more shot at OE, I used the low cost clinic associated with Monash in Brisbane. We had done 2 cycles with QFG in Toowoomba before changing, & found Dr C (he runs the low cost & is a director at Monash Bris) to be wonderful. It was with him we got our BFPs (1 MC). So much more cost effective, but 1 cycle would put you over the safety net net if you then decided to go down the donor route with Wazza. Let me know if you want any info. But let me say DH & I both were much happier with our treatment & the Drs and nurses at this clinic. They really are invested in you.

    Default IVF over 40#23

Good morning everyone. I hope you don't mind but I have a couple of questions that were keeping me awake last night. Has anyone had intralipids without phi in Melbourne or anywhere else really. I'm wondering if I could ask dr NL to do that for me on a cycle with another clinic seen as its all oop anyway. I feel like I want to throw as much as I can at this last det before I have the lap in April and look at other options. Could someone give me a rough estimate on cost, how often you have it and which days of the cycle and how long it takes. If it's better I ask on another thread I will do x

@infinity888 Yes..you could always go to MyIVF or The Fertility Centre, Affordable IVF etc & get a bit more bang for your buck doing basic low dose stim protocols at the low cost clinics if you didn't want risk spending so much $ on a last OE Cycle Luv.

@Caesardust I did my intralipids through genea and couldn't claim any of it it was $750 done on day 7 of my FET which seems quite early compared to most. I think it was only the 200 mls because it only took an hour. I am due to have another one after my 7 week scan and that will be it.

@Bongley thanks so much. So was the $750 inclusive of the hospital cost and the solution?
