yes, c'mon Incy! I hope this is implantation cramping, 1 week out, it could be!
my uni is my plan b/c plus it helps keep my mind off things
Well, low and behold I've just received an email from Dr W's nurse and he's asked me to have the following done immediately. I just have no idea what it is. Does any-one know? @BlondeinBrisvegas any wisdom? "HSG/HyCoSy/Saline Sonogram".
Ok, I'm guessing it's this Endone worthy procedure...

@Tahli - I'm pretty sure it's the tube flushing procedure where they flush saline through your tubes to see if they're 'patent' or clear. I had one done before I started IVF as I did one IUI and there isn't much point in doing that if your tubes are blocked. I think they also look at your uterus at the same time. Some people experience a lot of pain having it done but I didn't ( in fact it was so painless I wonder if they did it properly). Even with IVF when it doesn't matter if your tubes are blocked I think there is something called a hydrosalpinx which can impact implantation I think - Google it as I could be wrong.
I had a hycosy before my first round of ivf - they send dye/fluid through your fallopian tubes to see if there's any blockages. it feels a bit weird. and a little uncomfortable. I had a couple of painkillers beforehand, so it wasn't too painful.
oh I had to have it on a certain day of my cycle too - I think it was soon after af finished & mine was on it's last day. (or maybe there was a small range). best to check with them when you call. maybe the fluid was saline (can't remember). take a pad for afterwards as it did leak a bit.
Thanks heaps @Green lady and @winsor (aka Birthday Girl).
So it's looking like I shouldn't book my flights to CT for a 22nd Jan transfer in case they find something that needs treating. They've asked me to start on Synarel when AF arrives in about 3 days time.
I wonder if this procedure would pick up adenomyosis too?
I'll call LB's nurse in the morning to arrange having it done. I wonder if LB does them herself or sends you to a specialist clinic?
PS: Do you remember how much it cost by any chance?

not sure about adenomyosis - I don't know what's involved with that. i think this just checks for blocked tubes. I'm surprised they didn't test you before you started ivf, as it seems to be one of the initial standard tests they run. my FS sent me to an imaging place - they just do ultrasound scans there. (in syd) I could look up the name if you need it, though I think you're in melb so they'd have similar places there. I think it was done on day 7-10 of af cycle (mine prob day7 or 8) (day1 being when af starts)
