Can I ask and I don't mind if no one wants to share but how did you feel when you made the decision to shift from your OE's to DE's and for those who have transferred how do you feel about your babies. The reason I ask is because I have been feeling very excited about it all and also very protective already more so that with my OE's. I can't explain and IDK if it is because my OE let me down so much especially these last 2. One thing that really stands out is I was always going to donate any of my extra OE embryos if we completed a family no questions about it but I very selfishly had thoughts earlier of not wanting to do that with my DE's if we are lucky enough to achieve success of course which is so far away but I always think ahead of myself. I actually became quite distressed when the thought crossed my mind earlier today.
@Maxwellsmum I'm not sure that you can on-donate donated embryos either because there is a limit to the number of families donors can donate to, so its up to the donor how many and which families her eggs go to. If I had one left that was spare it would have to be destroyed or given to science.

I actually felt much less excited about the three DE embryos we had (believe it or not!) but I know that will change if I get UTD. I mean, I feel really excited that it would be much more likely to work but I don't have that level of er... bonding with them I guess (that sounds a bit weird, ha!)

Maxwellsmum I am glad your procedure went well.

Regarding our journey ... No FS has actually told us to go the surrogacy route.. I also just try to keep exploring my options after all the failures... I have had 4 failures with blastocysts with LB ( 2 out of which were pgd tested chromosomally normal)... So I just seem to have lost confidence in the whole thing.. I have a fifth one inside me .. Let's see..

I was so confident about my implantation when I had 2 out of 4 day 2 embies stick which later miscarried due to random chromosomal abnormalities which was the only reason we shifted from Mivf to Monash as we wanted to take them to blastocysts and test them... Never had I thought that implantation problems would crop up out of the blue...

LB and Wazza both think that surrogacy might not be the appropriate way out and they want to work more on the embryo quality even after getting pgd normals... Which LB has tried this cycle.. She added many things like growth hormones.... Which got me slightly different results from previous cycles as I had a blast on day 5 rather than day 6.... Really doesn't know if that means anything at all and not at all hopefull as it was only a C grade hatching blast.

Has anyone had any positive experience by adding human growth hormones in their cycle?

NL also diagnosed us with the stupid partial DQ alpha match which is doing my head in and suggested the controversial and risky LIT therapy as one of the treatments... Which we havnt done this cycle as LB and Wazza were against it. When we took the results to LB .....she literally laughed sarcastically and said every couple in the world .... If tested would have some or. The other sort of match with each other and just don't bother about it. She said if she tested with her hubby , even they would find a match.. She gave us paperwork from the blood bank which was against the LIT treatment and said she would do everything else for NK cells except LIT as she doesn't believe in dq alpha.. So here it gets confusing as LB and NL both are the top doctors in Mel... NL said we could try LIT but if you want the easier option out ... Try surrogacy... I was like easy??? Even that's not easy.. Anyways we started researching abt India as an option which was fine and slightly reasonable than other countries , but last month they have banned it too because people do all sorts of stupid things like baby Gamy and others have to suffer...

DE is not the option for us right now because if we are making blasts, testing them and hopefully getting normals, them and still they are not sticking , then changing the egg won't do any better because there is some unknown frucking problem in my oven which doesn't let them implant........ It's so ironical in my case .. The 2 wrong embies stuck and miscarried and the 4 right ones havnt.. Let's see what this C grader inside me does... May be intralipids growth hormones etc etc do something... But all said and done u really need to be lucky in the end...

sorry for for the long post girls but as mon is coming near.... I am just dreading the bt more and more and if it's a bfn.. The sadness over the Christmas period... Etc.. So I thought u lovlies are the best people to shar my heart felt feelings and feel slightly lighter...

That's not low Luv. Under 30 if you're Preggo is low. We're just used to massively inflated levels because of all the meds.

@Petal40 with the estrogen patches...how much did your lining improve by? Has any-one else seen lining improvement with the patches?
@BlondeinBrisvegas I was hoping you'd chime in to tell me what was 'normal'!! So it was just my hcg that was low then?! Getting the official result is always a kick in the guts, even when you know it's negative, so today I feel like sh~te. It's also my mums bday today, who died suddenly 5 months ago. And my ex is very very difficult. I have a sick cat and a sick son. Plus it's 35c. Plus I cut my Pred down from 25mgs to 15mgs and I'm a jittery mess. I should have listened to @Bongley and gone down to 20mgs, so I'll up it to 20mgs tomorrow and hope I feel better. Bib I'm just about to email your estrogen support/lining suggestions to Dr LR at CFC for him to review my notes with fresh eyes. I feel at a complete loss about how to make the next two embryos stick.
It seems like quite a few of us are a right Royal mess this week. Huuuuge hugs to all the girls doing it tough.

@Sue77 ah geeze you have been through the wringer FWIW I am on my 3rd PGD normal blastocyst and with my history (no losses and a BFP) they really should have worked (famous last words) Also, I keep seeing women who do double transfers and it either doesn't work or they end up with twins (generalisation I know) but it tells me that sometimes our bodies are just not up for it for whatever reason. I guess we wouldn't be here otherwise if we didn't have a host of issues, not just one. The second opinion doc I saw a few weeks ago said one of his patients had just got duffed on her 4th PGD normal. If only we all had a batch of normals to work through.

If you have tried all options to make your eggs stick with immune issues and all that and they don't then I guess you could try donor eggs as the 'easier' option (geeze compared to surrogacy anyway) just to see if there is some difference??

I can't believe NL said surrogacy was the easier option than LIT therapy ....say wha??? Really? What's involved? A head transplant?

I know it's going to be a harsh couple of weeks , lets hope we have something to celebrate instead (otherwise I am spending christmas with my head down a wine bottle)

Thanks Bongley... I understand what u mean love .... this is actually the first cycle with intralipids higher doses of pred etc ... plus growth hormones .. let's see.. If some results come out... otherwise I will explore the DE option if my other blasts come our normal and then if they also dont implant.... but for now .. The wait.. can I really expect from a C grade to implant ? I really wish we both have Christmas presents and won't need a bottle of wine xx

I've only used them on my frozen cycles, not fresh, so a little hard to compare. But my lining with them has always been around 11 or more.

@Sue77 You said it was hatching? Then yeah, absolutely! I never had any OE embryos that advanced ever. I know its annoying when someone says 'My poor grade embryo turned into my darling bouncing baby on my lap as I write blah blah' but well, my very early blast did get me my BFP (even my doc said it was nothing special). Was this one tested?

Wow @Petal40 a lining of 11mm would be phenomenal. Over my 5 cycles mine has always been about 7mm a week out from transfer. It'll be great to see if the patches can add to that. Ta.
