I reckon @Charlie74 do what you need to do so there is no doubts.
@Charlie74 Just curiously, did you make it crystal clear to K that Dr M had suggested 400-450mls as part of your personalized immune protocol? I'm just wondering because as you know I'll be asking the same question to LB via K in a few weeks.
Tahli, sorry to thread crash but I wanted to say I had the HyCoSy and I'm really not sure anything could've masked the pain completely but if you have some endone I'd definitely take it. The procedure itself takes around 20 mins but the really awful part is actually quite quick, maybe around 5 mins. I got told a couple of nurofen should do it, ummmm really? Waste of time taking it, go the hard stuff if you can tolerate it! Some people aren't affected at all by it but my pain threshold is extremely low and I found it a bit rough. Wish I'd had endone! I was referred by Lynne B to a place in box hill. Can't remember the name of it tho now as it was 18 months ago.
Hi ladies, I'm home!
So I have a few things to chat about.
First up, @JulieM, please don't go all Edward Scissorhands on your 'roids love! That just doesn't sound safe or sterile to me, and now is the least ideal time to do yourself a terrible injury or get an infection. Perhaps on your next Doctor's visit you could mention what you're thinking about doing - surely a good Doctor would recognise a woman at her wit's end and help a girl out? If your regular Doctor won't come to the party, perhaps see someone else for a second opinion. Anything is better than playing Operation on your own butt.
Secondly, I was wondering, out of pure curiosity, where does everyone live? Not that I'm wanting you all to give away your address in a public forum, but it might be nice to get a vague idea of where everyone is situated. You know, should we need to stage a bathroom intervention in the future I'll start the ball rolling if you like. I am in a small country town in Northern Victoria which has a population of about 4,000 people. The main industries here are piggeries, dairy and sheep. I live in the township (previously I was on acreage out of town) in a rented property which is just on the edge of town. Anyone care to chat about their home town?
OK, lastly. As you know I just arrived home from my parent's house (work trip, but stayed overnight.) My Mother and I normally don't see eye to eye. She's OK in small doses, but you know how it is.... So last night, she came to me and said "I bought the new Women's Weekly. It has the star signs for 2016 so I thought you might like to read it" and left it on my bed.
Mum always RAVES about the WW stars, she reckons they are always super accurate. Anywho, I flick to the stars, find Cancer (yes - I'm a moody beatch) and it's divided into four sections for each star sign - Love, Family, Career and Finance. I go to Family, and I sh*t you not, the first line reads:
"You will welcome a new baby, a real or prospective in-law, black sheep or lost family member into the fold after September...."
Well. I'll take any sign I can get ladies. And I know there are a million Cancerians around but the timing is so....right.

@Kellyk77 and @Kelly70 (hello stranger!), Ok, so back to Plan A and doing the HyCoSy under an anesthetic!! Thanks heaps for sharing your experiences. I'll wait til all my immune bloods are back and see if Dr M needs to do anything else under an anesthetic. @Kellyk77 I'd love to know where you had it done in Box Hill if you can jolt your memory?
Ta @BlondeinBrisvegas for the Endone & Valium combo suggestion but I'm going to wuss out!!
@Charlie74 Yep, I'll definitely be telling LB and K about Dr M. I'll be quite forthright about asking for however many mls he suggests.

@Charlie74 I do have to wonder if they've done some sort of risk assessment and now have a blanket policy. If only there was a convincing piece of literature/study Dr M could email to you so you could forward it on to LB. I know she read the info I emailed her on MTHFR when I was requesting a 5-MTHR script.
@Sue77 I really feel for you. Your head must be spinning at what to do and with the cost of surrogacy, you want to ensure it is a smooth operation.
Having travelled to the Ukraine, my personal issues would be in that whilst it has been its own country for a while, I found it very Soviet in how things are run. I found Russia less Soviet, whilst still being Soviet (if that makes any sense at all)
English is a major barrier.
They have an HIV epidemic that continues to rise which gives an indication of their health system. I would query the clinic if you get a comprehensive health profile and if you meet the donor, can attend ultrasounds etc so you know they are being done and aren't sent a random ultrasound picture.
If the clinic books accommodation for you, make sure it is an accredited hotel and will provide you with a letter of invitation so you can get your visa.
Civil unrest in eastern Ukraine, not near Kiev but would still be concerned about the rest of the country and political status. There is no regulation on surrogacy and I see Ukraine as a country where things can change in an instant and the surrogacy agreement would break down.
Sue, I am so sorry to be such a Debbie Downer. I feel like I am raining on your parade. Please note that the above is my reasoning for not considering the Ukraine. have no personal experience so cannot speak for the surrogacy program, just have thoughts on the country as a whole.
I hope you can find a lawyer who specialises in international surrogacy and can give advice on how the law works. For all I know that lawyer may say they have assisted 5 couples in going to the Ukraine and they all now have their babies back with them in Australia.
@Blossom74 Welcome home Luv!!😊
I'm in Brisbane which I'm sure is pretty obvious!!!😁
Hmmm....am going to have to get me a copy of the WW & check those stars out for myself I think!!!😊
"Perfectionist Virgo" here!!😉😁
