The other was older, but they didn't put him on pred and he was off work for 6 months, then working from home for a year. Had to see numerous specialists and a few years later still has droopy jaw, which apparently will be permanent. We were so grateful my brother was put on prednisone and had early intervention, which it sounds like you've had Summer. The other thing you've got to do is protect your eye if it's not shutting itself properly. Wear sunnies or do the pirate look? I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks @Gagingi we did catch it reasonably early, although because it was new year's I didn't go to the doctor for three days, but I did take a lot of natural anti-inflammatories until I got the diagnosis yesterday and then started the prednisone. The chiro appointment made a big difference straight away, but I have slipped back a little today, but it's not too bad. My eye nearly closes, so it's a bit sore and dry, but not enough to need taping at night - although I could do the pirate thing, lol

That's awful about your family member that has permanent damage now - the doctor did say that it was more difficult to reverse in older people. I think I'm quite lucky that it is reasonably mild and improving, as it can be quite nasty. Doesn't say much for my immune system though, so that's disapointing. Thanks xxxx

Hi juliemallooly thanks. I think I wanted two but would have been happy with one. Since for the last three weeks I thought I was having one I got used to that and was very happy with that. Now that it's two I think I'm in shock. Hubby too. It will be that much harder and expensive but we wanted at least two kids so now we are just getting it out of the way in one go. How are you coping with idea?
huge congratulations @Precious40 so thrilled for you

Yes I was very worried about the expense and how hard it will be and how will I get back to work - but I'm starting to get a bit excited now more than worried. I still can't honestly say I'm thrilled about twins so have really only reached acceptance about that part, but I'm really starting to look pregnant now (although smaller than everyone else with photos on google) and we have finally bought some baby gear so its starting to feel real.
I still need to keep reminding myself that I'm finally UTD and there are lots of side-on poses in the mirror lol.
One thing I can say is that I don't feel any different about these babies because they are from a donor. It makes not a speck of difference to me, which is nice. It was a hard decision to make initially, but as soon as my mindset shifted and the reality set it that it was my only option, it became my new normal.

Well @Tahli if you have the persistence - and you obviously do - you WILL join us. You're doing all the right things and you still have plenty of backups in CT so its just a matter of time.

Thanks @JulieMalooley. I'm not sure persistence will be enough. I can only hope so. It's flipping depressing watching girl after girl getting their BFP's on the SA thread. (Exciting for them though obviously, and I'm excited for them.) There's a big part of me that's completely over it. How many of the other girls have had to fly over 4 or 5 or 6 times??! I know full well that pregnancy isn't a right but I'd only geared myself for having to go over to CT a max of 3 times. As you know March's trip will be transfer 4 and I have dates already chosen for 5 and 6. I just want to get it over and done with now.

Thanks tahli! I did a few things differently...I had acupuncture before and after and am still getting weekly. I gave up caffiene which was very hard! I only drank tea before anyways, not coffee but really miss that cuppa. Took folate as well as multi and omega. We DTD night before as I heard that helps make sticky (eww tmi!) also we went straight back home after transfer and watched comedy as I heard laughing supposedly relaxes everything and helps with implanting. We are not very religious but there was a lot of prayers going on as well!! I think that's all my tricks and tips. I'm sure having the eggs of a 22 yo was helpful! Dr m said the embryos were all textbook perfect and she would be surprised if I didn't get pregnant. My donor was not a huge producer of eggs. Only retrieved 7, 6 fertilized and 1 dropped off. So have three frozen. Dr m said my donor usually produced eggs that were quality over quantity. I would have been happy with one decent one so to have 5 is like jackpot to me. I hope you are successful this time. I know how close you were before. That is so cruel to get that far tahli
thanks Julie sometimes i almost forget we used donor! They are our babies with a little help from a lovely women.
I am huge. Growing out of my bras and pants weekly. Hubby said to me today now I'm eating for three! I don't know how I'm going to hide this for another 4 weeks. Anyways I am still in shock here so will go and let some of this sink in!! thanks everyone for your love and support!! Hope I can give back the same!
