    My FIL is fabulous.

MIL sadly passed when DD was 2 - but she was really great and I loved her very much.

FIL moved in down the road from us - and he is great. He doesnt live in our pocket - but its nice to have him close by where we are here if he needs us.

He walks down and walks DD to school every day - they have such a great relationship. its so lovely

I could write the bad Inlaw thread in my sleep with my ex In laws but my now Inlaws are awesome.

My MIL even gave me a thank you card for taking FIL to then doctors 30 minutes away. They are family no card was needed but that's the kind of people they are

This is the MIL who have me the trick to freeze baked meat in foil trays in gravy to reheat and cook with veg.

My in laws are fantastic, they have the kids for me every week, as well as when we have something on like a wedding etc. they feed my kids nutritious meals and do fun things with them like puzzles, gardening, bike riding.

When we purchased our first home they bought us a sofa and an outdoor setting.

When I had gastro they came straight over and took the kids for me whilst I recovered.

When I had my c section they looked after my daughter and brought her to the hospital to visit her new brother.

I am so lucky to have them.

My MIL has looked after DD once a week for the last 2 years, she's always happy to have the kids if we ask (we never take advantage it would be once every 2 months or so), she offers to have all her 6 Grandkids for a big cousin play for the day at least once over the school holidays.

She came over at 2AM when I was in labour and hopped in the spare bed and went to sleep so we didn't have to wake DS while we went to the hospital.

I know she would help out if I needed her and asked.

She's a big help and the kids love her.

I love my parents inlaw. They have been very good to me, helping me out with things, accepting my kids from a previous relationship, helping me sort out my house ex and I shared, my mil does my tax for free (she's an accountant), my fil built our extension for cheaper ( he's a builder). I can talk to mil too.
They are paying my my son to hsve swimming lessons and also looking into bssketball for my older kids next year too. They do a lot for us unlike my ex's family or even my own family .

My journey with my in laws is very long - 18 years worth.
There have been so many ups and downs, hurt feelings on both sides but I think and hope that we're in a good place now. I love them dearly.
