    Default Constant braxton hicks

Currently 22weeks pregnant, had a cervical stitch put in last Friday due to cervical shortening and it was happening before the stitch but I may notice it more now I'm on bed rest but I get very frequent BH, my ob has put me on nifedipine to control them but I think it's making me quit I'll lowering my blood pressure, head aches, breathing difficulties at times. Anywho these BH can come on and stay for hours every 10-15mins they are not painful at all I just get a weird feeling in my chest and then the tightening happens lasting about 30secs, has any one experienced this?

I was in a very similar situation, had a stitch at 12 weeks and slowly went up to the highest dose of nifedipine. It made me feel awful but I was contracting allll the time I would go for hours contracting 1/2min for 40seconds, it was exhausting. I was already on progesterone and we upped it to twice a day and I also ended up on not valium but something similar (sorry the name escapes me) this helped relax the muscles. Sorry to say I was in and out of hospital and ended up having Bub at 34 weeks (which was great compared to my previous pregnancy). I don't have any advice except to speak to your ob, and let them know how things are going there may be something else you can use to counteract the side effects. Wishing you a long pregnancy!!

@mumwannabe thank you for your reply, I actually didn't take last night or this mornings dose because I couldn't handle the side effects the low blood pressure was causing heart palpitations, surprisingly I've had less constructions then when I'm on it, so now I'm thinking maybe the side effects of the drug are stressing my body and causing more of them, it's so hard to know what to do.
I see my ob today so I will talk to him maybe be will lower the dose or get me to take it only when I'm having a bad run of them.
I'm glad to hear ur Bub didn't come until 34weeks that's reassuring as I'm constantly stressing that it will affect when Bub arrives I'll be 23 weeks tomoro and my first goal was 24 so one more week then I can set a new one 😊
