DH took 2 weeks unpaid (family business) and received dad and partner pay from Centrelink - 2 weeks minimum wage.

Yea, he took unpaid leave from work and got the minimum wage Centrelink benefit.

We didn't take it when ds was born last year. As much as an extra 2wks off would have been nice (I had a cs & he had to go back after 2wks), the minimum wage would have covered only the mortgage and a very slim shopping trolley. I'm a sahm even before ds's birth so we just make ends meet on his full wage.
