    Default Santa and gifts

As for Santa getting all the glory...I couldn't care less. Watching how excited my kids are on Christmas day is enough, I don't need a thanks....but if it really worries people as soon as they know the truth they have so much gratitude for you 'being Santa' that you get all the 'glory' then.
This is so true. I remember being a kid and some of my friends tried to tell me Santa wasn't real. And I was just like "no way, my parents couldn't afford ALL those presents". The following year when I eventually accepted Santa wasn't real, I was so incredibly shocked & grateful that my parents went to so much effort & I always tried to get the something special each year after that.
ETA: And in saying all that, once we knew & our parents started getting the credit, some of the magic was lost & I know my parents preferred Santa getting the glory and having that magic. I love playing Santa, I hope I always have kids around me who believe!
