    Default Choosing new toilets

The apartment we bought has Villeroy and Boch toilets and all of them have cracked pans, one in particular is showing signs of leaking so it needs to be the first to go.

We were going to replace with new Villeroy and Boch but they are quite expensive and I'm not sure my bottom really cares enough!

Can anyone suggest good reasonable brands, Caroma was more expensive than I realised too.

No idea sorry, but my aunt and uncle have Villeroy and Bosch toilets in their house (they built a year or so back) and have had numerous issues with one of the toilets leaking. Not sure if it's related, but you'd expect quality from a product like that.

Our 3 are all imperial brand, and we've had no issues with the toilets themselves. Our ensuite toilet had had to have the seat replaced after 3.5 years as the hinge at the back sheared off. It's not happened with any of the other toilets and one of them is used just as much as the ensuite toilet, if not more.

We used to have Villeroy and Bosh, but also cracked pan. We claimed on insurance, and they replaced it with something else... As soon as my kids are asleep I'll go look.
We had to make sure it was the same size/ shape so we didn't have to re-tile the floor too.

Thanks but I think these are from being bashed by vacuum cleaners by previous owners which was common in the model but makes me nervous of using them again given the $$$

Can I ask how you claimed on insurance? I'm pretty sure we can't but wish we could - we have four of them!

Yes we're trying to make sure it's the same size, we can't afford to replace them all let alone change plumbing etc.

I don't know, my mum was here and said to me "you should claim that on insurance" so we put in a claim and they came and changed the toilet over. I think our excess was about $500, but the new toilet and installing it would have been more than that. You should at least ask your insurance company.
