I was down the Coast on the weekend and went to Mecca Cosmetica and Sephora, so picked up some goodies.
@Phia, I got the limited edition Urban Decay Trio will post pics later. The Stila matte lip colour was definitely non-budging!

Just wondering if any one would be able to advise good makeup brushes but under $100? For a gift. TIA

What kind of brushes? Just a basic set of eye or face? Both?

If it is basic and for beginners my favourites are:

Real Techniques - Expert face brush, setting brush (I have 2 of these), and 2 of their eye brushes (they come in a set of 5 - I don't like the angled brush. Or the other 'liner' brush much.

I love ELF blush brush and use it for setting face (I do not like big brushes) and bronzer (if I wear any) and it also does blush too.

Sigma/Zoeva are a step up and brushes are between $17 (for an eye brush) to $40-50ish for face brushes.

Buy Real Techniques from iherb. Not priceline. So much cheaper.

The 'Berlin' set has good basic brushes that cover most things. Just add in some more eye brishes and a setting brush.

Iherb also sell ELF. KMart does stock them but does not have much.

Thanks Twinklify, great info. Might be an idea for myself too

My SIL requested 'good makeup brushes' but my budget is really only $100. Am I right in thinking 'good' ones would be more?

The thing is, she is used to the finer things in life & so I'm torn between budget & quality.
